A pleasing feature of the last two games has been the hitting of .lack Needham, who is now witnaging to get his batting eye on the ball, and, will be helpful in the playoffs: 'Je•rry Gina, with his speed on the bases and..his ability to lay down bunts, is also a valuable man to have around, and he can. do a fair job around first base when ('aptain Evans is in the pitcher's box. One of the most interested -men at the game on Wednesday was the ,fb)rmer 'fn:Mager, Eddie Jessop, who looks with wistful. eyes after the,, team when he is left.at home. Eddie, how- ever, promises to do the scoring for the boys in the . playoffs. The fans are clamoring for a- play- off series between the Lions and the Louzon Flyers, and although the latter have dropped three out of ,their four engagements with Con Baechler'e speed boys, they are still unconvinced that they are not the better team.
