Obituaries
PAUL DUNCAN MCDONALD
It is with heavy hearts that we
announce the passing of a much -
loved husband, father, grandfather,
nephew, brother-in-law and uncle.
On Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 Paul
Duncan McDonald of Lurgan
Beach, formerly of Brussels, passed
away in his 68th year.
Left to mourn his passing are his
devoted wife Jane (Krauter) of 46
years, and his beloved children
Natasha and Stephen Kloostra and
Erica and Mark Pocock, as well as
his cherished grandchildren Gabe,
Kate and Maren.
He is also survived by a special
aunt, Joyce Hodgins, of Wingham,
as well as his in-laws and nieces and
nephews.
Paul is predeceased by his parents
Jack (1997) and Dorothy (2011), his
brother Neil (1992) and sister Gail
(1996) as well as two infant siblings.
Paul was a gentle and kind-hearted
man who enjoyed spending time
with family and friends, and was
always willing to give his time for
others. He took great pride in the
accomplishments of his two
daughters and their families and
cherished the Sunday suppers that
brought us together. He enjoyed
hockey, NASCAR, the relaxation of
retirement and helping and visiting
with others whenever possible.
Paul enjoyed many years at family
cottages at the French River,
Amberley Beach and Port Severn,
and was an accomplished barefoot
water-skier and chef at the barbecue.
Paul loved his vehicles and spent
hours upon hours caring for them. A
good chamois was his most prized
possession.
Paul was easy to converse with,
relishing in conversations he
regularly struck up with people from
all walks of life. He spent many
hours on shopping mall benches
making new friends.
Paul worked for over 40 years at
his family hardware and building
supply business in Brussels.
He enjoyed working alongside
his father and late siblings as well
as his dedicated employees and
customers.
Paul left us too early and had
much more to share with those who
valued him for the lovely man he
was; friends and family will
continue to remember him that way.

scarves are all hand-knit by locals and the wool was donated by Sugar Bush Yarns of Listowel.
The scarves, which are all red, are meant to resemble a larger version of the red AIDS ribbon.
