Special to the News Record
Christmas in July was cel-
ebrated July 17 in Brucefield
Community United Church.
The elves were in to decorate
earlier on one of the hottest
nights. Thanks to them.
The lighting of the Advent
Candle was by Morgan and
Tyler Colclough, Tyler
Chuter and friend named
Chase. Greeters were Joyce
Hummel and Francis Kins-
man, and the reader was
Helen Faber. Many Christ-
mas hymns were sang before
the service and many
throughout the service. The
choir entertained with two
Christmas anthems with
their santa hats. Well Done!
Following the children's
story by Rev Randy Banks,
Mary Fotheringham pre-
sented her granddaughter
Kirsten McIntosh for Confir-
mation. Kirsten joined in
with the Confirmation Class
in Egmondville and
Steve Hildebrand. She gave a
short talk on the highlights
of the classes.
Rev Randy Confirmed her.
Geraldine Eckel presented
her with a Bible from the
U.C.W. Rev Randy reflected
on "What is Christes Masse?':
This was followed with
more Christmas hymns.
Merry Christmas to All.
Next Sunday, July 24 will be
summer and the service will
be outdoors so bring a lawn
Chair for seating.
There will be no Church in
Brucefield Community
United Church for the month
of August. Bayfield Commu-
nity welcomes you to join
them under the tent at the
Fairgrounds at loam on Sun-
day, August 21, 2016.

Weddings for Danielle Love
(daughter of Grand and Lau-
ren Love) and Shannon Dawn
Cooper (daughter of Jim and
Beth Cooper)
