There in as ongoing feud
at Huron River Villa Trailer
Park in Clinton which has
been slowly escalating. Most
recently, two residents have
been accused of spray paint-
ing large red "x"s on four
trailers in the park.
"The'x's are nothing com-
pared to what's been going
on here," commented one
neighbour.
The two accused residents
are Chris and Tim. Chris
lived in the park first, for
around eight years. Tim has
only lived there for one or
two years. At the beginning,
the main issue that neigh-
bours had with Chris was his
dozens of cats.
The News Record was con-
tacted by one neighbour
named David. David said
some of the issues are simply
childish and some seem to
be more serious and threat-
ening. He mentioned the
main issue with the cats was
they would wreck residents'
flowerbeds and even trailer
equipment.
One woman's screen was
very damaged by the cats.
When she fixed the damage
and gave the bill to Chris, he
was extremely angry. He
swore at her and threatened
to harm her. She was so
afraid that she tried to move
away, until she realized she
could not afford to. She
decided not to go to the
police because she was
afraid of what Chris would
do.
Chris was also accused of
yelling for his cats at early
hours of the morning. When
neighbours told him to be
quiet, he would yell and
curse at them. Since then,
animal control has made
Chris get rid of 26 of his cats.
He was able to keep around
six of them.
When Tim moved in,
things got worse at the park.
The two seem to have
become friends "teamed up':
When David asked Tim what
he ever did to offend him,
Tim said, "he [ticked] him
off".
The police have been
called to many times to the
park; this is the first event
involving these two men in
which a charge has been
laid. A few days after the
vandalism, Chris was
charged and was told to stay
away from the trailers which
had "x"s on them.
Some neighbours in the
park believe that the "x"s
mean those trailers were
"marked" for some kind of
future harm, though others
believe they were purely to
vandalize the property.
Two neighbours, includ-
ing David, are in the process
of getting a restraining order
against Chris.
For that order, David has
written up nine pages of
offenses against Chris. A sin-
gle threat must be chosen for
the front of the order, so
David wrote that Chris said
he would "pound [David]
and smash his truck and that
he yelled and cursed at
[David's wife]':
Some other offenses
David noted are his wife's
windshield was smashed,
Chris walks by and lets his
dog tease David's dog when
it's tied up on their deck,
they set off firecrackers, they
are intentionally loud and
they put bubble gum on
people's decks which melts
in the sun and leaves stains.
