Museum Secrets workshop series announced

Huron County Museum
staff have many specialized
skills, and are often asked for
advice from the public on how
to best handle their special
projects. This spring, the first
Museum Secrets workshop
series will be offered.
Museum staff and local
experts will be teaching
unique heritage related skills
in areas of popular demand.
Workshops begin on Thurs-
day, April 21 and take place
bi-weekly in the Museum the-
atre on Thursday evenings at 7
p.m.
The first topic covered in
the series is vintage vehicle
care. The talk, titled "Is it Time
for a Facelift, or Should you
Preserve and Protect?" The
talk is led by Heidi Zoethout,
Museum Technician and
Automotive Technician.
Zoethout will be accompa-
nied by Jessica Gilbank, Auto-
motive Techinician and Res-
toration Specialist. This
workshop is for anyone who
owns or is dreaming of buying
a classic vehicle.
The second workshop, "Doc-
umenting and Photographing
your Family Treasures, is led by
Patti Lamb, Registrar, and Col-
leen Maguire, Portrait and
Commercial Photographer.
Have you ever wondered the
history of a family heirloom?
This workshop will teach you
how to share this information
with future generalions. Attend-
ees will learn how to keep
records and photograph items,
including learning to build
inexpensive light boxes.
Those interested in learning
the history of their home will
want to attend "Researching
your Home in Huron County,"
led by Jenna Leifso, Archivist.

All workshops are on a Thursday and begin at
7 p.m. at the Huron County Museum.
$10 per workshop, $7 for members. $30 for all
four, or $20 for members.
