Mrs, Lloyd Miller presided nt
the November meeting of the
Marian Ritchie Evening .Auxit-
iary, which was held . in the
church basement with Mrs. Gor-
don
oadon Laing at the piano. The
meeting opened with meditation
and prayer by Mrs. Miller. The
Scripture lesson from John 15,
was read by Mrs. Carter Kers-
lake. Nine members answered
the roll call with a verse on
"Remembrance".
The secretary's report was
read by Mrs. Gordon Laing and
the offering was received. Busi-
ness was discussed and Mrs.
John Miller reviewed the last
chapter of the study book on
"Women in the Old Testament."
Mrs. Duncan Scott read a story
and poem on Remembrance
Day as her topic.
A pleasing piano solo was
played by Mrs. Gordon Laing,
and the meeting closed with a
hymn and the Lord's Prayer in
unison. 'Lunch was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Wallace
of Carlingford were Sunday vis-
itors with the former's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. George Wallace.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce. Turner
and son, of Detroit, visited dur-
ing the week with Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Dodds.
Mr. Norman Harburn is a pa-
tient in Stratford Hospital, hav-
ing undergone eye Surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Walker
were guests at a birthday party
at the home of Mr. Alvin Corn-
ish, Exeter, on Sunday, honor-
ing Mr. Lorne Wassman, on his
65th birthday.
Mrs. Stephen Kendrick and
family, formerly of Windsor,
are visiting at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Mc-
Laren. Mrs. Kendrick will be
joined by her husband, who has
been transferred to Winnipeg,
where they will reside.
Mr. L. Desjardine from Kirk -
ton has purchased the former
clubhouse, and with Mrs. Des-
jardine and son, Leslie, have
moved to the village to reside.
Mr. and Mrs. Laurie McKel-
lar, who have occupied the
clubhouse, have moved to the
Mahaff house, now owned by
Mr. T. L. Scott.

Lyle Worden of Staffs, which
was held from the Hopper
Hockey funeral home in Exe-
ter on Saturday,
The annual banquet and
dance, sponsored by the Stags
ball team, which was held in
the Legion Kootns in Mitchell on
Saturday night, was well at-
tended by Cromarty members
and fans,
Communion service will be
observed at the regular after-
noon hoar of worship at 1:30
next Sunday, Dec. 8th.
Monday was election day and
those elected to the council in
Hibbert Township were Ross
McPhail, John Drake, Charles
Roney and Auguste Ducharme.
Earl Dick won the reeveship by
acclamation.

The regular meeting of the
Red Cross Society will be held
in the Library rooms on Friday,
December 6, at 3 p.m.

More than 80 members of the
Huron County Holstein Club at-
tending an annual meeting at
Blyth Thursday were told that
breeding Holstein cattle is in-
creasing in popularity over the
whole world.
George McLaughlin, of Beav-
erton, a Holstein breeder, spoke
to the club on modern methods
of raising Holsteins. Holsteins,
he said, are increasing in popu-
larity as breeders aim to pro-
duce better quality animals.
Vernon Hunter, of Lucknow,
was elected president, succeed-
ing Wellington Brock, of Gran-
ton.
Other officers are: first vice-
president, Harold Gaunt, of
Lucknow; secretary - treasurer,
Hume Clutton, RR 5, Goderich.
Mr. Brock received a pen desk
set' as retiring president.
Twelve new members who
were welcomed to the organiza-
tion, brought the membership
to 206.
