"The Store Where Your Dollar Buys the Most"
Rev. C. W. Carrigan, D.P., pas-
tor of Sacred Heart parish,
Windsor. Present in the body
of the church were about 100
priests of London diocese, many
of them former seminary stu-
dents of Rev. Dr. Ffoulkes.
Rt. Rev. A. J. Durand gave
the funeral sermon. In his op-
ening remarks Monsignor ex-
pressed his tribute to the late
Dr. Ffoulkes by saying he had
lost a life-long friend, who
would wish us to make use of
his death. Monsignor then pro-
ceeded to give a sermon on the
lessons to be learned from Dr.
Ffoulkes' sudden death, basing
his sermon on Christ's words:
"Watch and pray; you do not'
know when the time is to come.
And what I say to you, I say
to all, 'Watch'." Monsignor af-
firmed a sudden death is a
priestly death. We are not our
own—our life is hidden with
Christ in God. The sudden death
of a priest is a priest's last ser-
mon: Be on the watch since
you do not know when the mas-
ter of the house is' coming, at
twilight or midnight or dawn.
And what I say to you, I say
to all "Watch."
Following the Absolution, the
choir sang "In Paradisum." The
priests then followed the body
in procession to the grave in
St. Patrick's cemetery, where it
was laid to rest beside two for-
mer pastors, Rev. Father Fog-
arty, the first pastor of St. Pat-
rick's Church, and his succes-
sor, Rev. Thomas Noonan.
Acting as pallbearers were
Joseph Delaney, Louis Bruxer,
Fergus Horan, .Clayton Looby,
Martin Feeney and Earl Healy.
