There once was a man
With a horse named Sally,
Who'd holler at Janie,
Let's .not dilly-dally.
From out of the house
She would come with a bound,
And Jack and Janie
Would head for town.
And off they would go,
With a leap and bound,
To have a kiss or two,
When no one was around.
The courtship went on
For a year or two;
Finally Jack said to Janie,
"I want to marry you."
"Oh, yes," she said,
With greatest delight;
And soon on a farm
They did light.
There they were kept busy
Milking all the cows;
Janie fed the hens,
And Jack fed the sows.

Soon Janie had other things.
To keep her very busy,
In the form of a bundle
Whom they called "Lizzy."
Then came Marjorie
And "Curly" Noreen;
My, what a job
To keep them all clean.
Then five years later,
Jack got his toy,
In a chap named Alex,
Who is a very fine boy.
Then along came Karen,
The baby of them all;
But, like the rest of them,
She's growing tall.
Soon they were off to high school,
And to catch that bus, •
"Oh," many times thought Janie
"What a lot of bother and fuss."

But oh, how the years
They did fly,
And soon the two oldest
Were saying "Good-bye."
They set up their homes,
But not far away,
And they come to visit'
Many a fine day.
Soon Jack and Janie
Heard some very good news;
Said Marjorie and Howard,
"What do you choose?"
"A boy or a girl,
We don't really care,
As long as for spoiling,
We have our fair share.
The wonderful day finally came,
And a fine baby girl arrived;
Jack handed out many cigars
With great joy and pride.
They are two people,
Very fine and superb,
And the whole family knows
them
As the "head of the herd."
What a lot can happen
In twenty-five years;
We hope you enjoy these gifts.
From all of us here.
