Holds Meeting
WILLING WORKERS
The second meeting of the
Seaforth Willing Workers was
held, at the home of Mrs. Stew-
art Dale Monday. The meeting
was opened with the 4-H Pledge
and minutes were read by Jean
Scott. Roll call was "My aver-
age score for milk for one
week."
Tuna casserole . and maple
fizz were made by Gertie Veen-
stra, Gai Watson and Elaine
Dale. Junket was made by Ir-
ma Petersen, Jane Westerveld
and Jean Scott. The next meet-
ing is being held at the home
of Mrs. Earl Nott.
SEAFORTH II
The second meeting of the
new project, "The Milky Way,"
was held at the home of Ricki
Wiliems, and opened y re-
peating the 4-H Pledge. The
roll call was answered by
"What was your score for milk
last week." Minutes were read
by Joanne Vanmiltenberg.
The group met at Ricki Wil-
lems and went on to Stacey
Bros. in Mitchell. Two meetings
are planned next Saturday. Miss
Papple discussed the subject
matter. Lunch was served.
ST. THOMAS' LADIES' GUILD
The regular meeting of the
Ladies' Guild of St. Thomas'
Anglican Church was held Wed-
nesday evening at the home of
Mrs. Allan McConney. The
president, Mrs. Robert Spittal,
opened the meeting with the
reading of the Gospel for the
llth Sunday after Trinity from
St. Luke, followed by the Col-
lect and the Lord's Prayer.
Mrs. Spittal reported that the
new flooring in the parish hall
has been installed. The date for
the fall rummage sale has been
set for -Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. The
October meeting will be held in
the parish hall and will be a
work bee for the rummage sale.
The shower will be for the
cakes and puddings booth.
The closing hymn was com-
posed by the Rev. J. H. James
for the recent dedication of
Holy Trinity Anglican Church,
London. A social hour was en-
joyed, while Mrs. Bruce Mc-
Lean and Mrs. McConney serv-
ed lunch.

The regular meeting of the
UCW was held in the basement
or the church on Wednesday.
Mrs. Don Buchanan, president,
opened the meeting with the
theme, "Praise Ye the Lord for
His Universality," The hymn,
"Come, Thou Almighty King,"
was sung after which Mrs. Don
Buchanan led in prayer. Mrs.
Wilbur Jewitt read the scrip-
ture lesson, taken from Acts
17:22-28, and Mrs. Earle Nott
read the Meditation. The stu-
dy book, "The Word and the
Way," was taken by Mrs. W.
L. Whyte on chapter 4, "The
Love of God." The worship
period closed with prayer.
The roll call was answered
by 10 ladies. The minutes of
the last meeting were read and
approved. Correspondence was
read, and the treasurer gave a
report, also the parsonage com-
mittee. After the business was
discussed four delegates were
chosen to attend the Presbyter-
ial at Bayfield on October 8th.
They were Mrs. Borden Brown,
Mrs. Ross MacGregor, Mrs. W.
L. Whyte and Mrs. Reg Lawson.
It was decided to hold the
thankoffering meeting on Oct.
16th at 2 p.m. The offering was
received, and the meeting dos-
ed by singing the hymn, "In
Christ There is No East or
West."
At the time of writing the
many friends of Mrs. Tom Pol-
lard are sorry to hear she is in
Stratford Hospital. We wish
Mrs. Pollard an early recovery.

Clinton and was much enjoyed.

Holds Picnic
The annual picnic of Chisel-
hurst United Church Sunday
School was held the latter part
of August, but owing to in-
clement weather the : t"Sports
were rained out and were held
last Wednesday evening on the
lawn of Hugh Morris, under di-
rection of Miss Patricia Harris.
