The gathering, representa- tive of municipalities across the riding, was the first in several years, Guests included Jahn Morri- son, M.P. for Wentworth, who brought greetings from Ottawa, and Murray Gaunt, M.P. for Hu- ron -Bruce, who apolse on be- ' half of Ontario Liberals. Gor- don McGavin, Liberal candidate in Huron in the April election, expressed appreciation for the support which had been given him during the campaign. Supper arrangements were in charge of a committee headed by W. R. Jewitt of Hullett, while the sports program was arranged by Larry Wheatley of McKillop and Jim Coultes of Belgrave. He was a retired bank manager; His brother Leo, of St. Colum - ban, and daughter Ann, are at present in California. Nephew Killed In Saskatchewan Mrs. George Fess received word on Thursday that her nephew, Dorland Little, 40, of Biggar, Sask., had been instant- ly killed in a truck -car collision at Biggar, Sask., on Wednesday evening, July 24. His wife, the former Irene Doan, of Watford, was visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Doan, of Wat- ford, and flew home on Thurs- day with her little son, Vernon, accompanied by M,rs. Hess. The late Mr. Little is survived by his wife, two sons, Leonard and Vernon, and one daughter, Gayle. Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Petzke of Stratford have taken up resi- dence in the Roszel apartment on Wellington Street. Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson of St. Catharines spent the weekend with the latter's sis- ter, Miss Phyllis Case, who re- turned home with them on Mon- day for a week's vacation. Mrs. J. E. Relatives and friends from this area attended the funeral of the late Mr. Edgar Miller of London, brother of Mr. Wilbur Miller, which took place in Mit- chell on Sunday. Sympathy is extended to those bereaved. Rev. Robert Bissett of Avon - ton Presbyterian Church will have charge of the services in Cromarty Church during the month of August, while the minister, Rev. J. C. Boyne, is on vacation. Auxiliary Meets The Marian Ritchie Evening Auxiliary meeting was held in the Sunday school room of the church. Mrs. John Miller pre- sided.
