The Kinette Club of Hensall
met Wednesday night, April 10,
at the home of Mrs. Ross Jinks.
Vice-president Mrs. John Deitz
chaired the meeting. Further
plans for the rummage sale at
the Arena Saturday, May 26,
were discussed.
Several thank -you notes were
read from shut-ins. Mrs. Robt.
Baker, Jr., reported that 43
plants had been delivered to
local sick and shut-ins. The
nominating committees Submit-
ted their slate of officers for
the coming year. The raffle was
won by Mrs. Homer Campbell.
Mrs. Jim Hyde demonstrated
the proper way of applying
make-up.
In a draw at Al's Super Mar-
ket Saturday night, the follow-
ing were successful winners:

Sr., Hensall;. six live bunnies,
Nancy Jones, St. Thomas; Eric
Mansfield, Hensall; Mrs. John

The bake sale held in the
United Church Saturday after-
noon, sponsored by Mrs. Dave
Kyle's Unit Three of the UCW,
realized approximately $40.00.
The baking was sold out in five
minutes.

bekahs are holding a euchre
in the IOOF Hall, Hensall, on
Thursday, April 18, at 8:30 p.m.

ary Society of Carmel Church
met last Tuesday with Mrs.
Percy Caldwell in charge of
the devotional, assisted by Mrs.
Malcolm Dougall, Mrs. Edwards
and Mrs. Glenn Bell, with an
Easter theme. Mrs. Earl Camp-
bell presided for the regular
business, Mrs. Ross MacDonald
gave an interesting report on
the 'recent Synodical meetings
held in Wingham.

Elect New Executive

election of officers at the an-
nual meeting of Hensall Wo-
men's Institute, Wednesday,
held in the Legion Hall. Mrs.
Strang also addressed t h e
branch members, giving high-
lights of institute work.

The branch is responsible for

hibited -at Exeter fall fair:
house slippers, driftwood ar-
rangements, ladies' duster coat,
plate of fancy cookies and hook-
ed rug or mat.
Mrs. James McAllister was
appointed area delegate, with
Mrs. Dilling as alternate, to the
London area convention in No-
vember.
Conveners of standing , com-
mittees submitted' their reports
to the meeting. The bus trip
to Ottawa in June was discuss-
ed and plans will be finalized
at the May meeting. Mrs, N.
E. Cook and Mrs. Peck were
appointed a committee to pur-
chase a birthday gift for their
adopted child in Austria. Twen-
ty-five dollars was voted to the
Hensall Legion Branch. The
TURNER'S UCW MEET
Turner's Church UCW held
an Easter thankoffering service
on Thursday, April 11, at 2:30
p,m,,, with guests from Ontario
Street United Church, Clinton.
A very interesting account of
the United Church women's
conference, held at St. Thomas,
was given by the guest speak-
er, Mrs. Elgin McKinley, of
Zurich.
The special Easter devotions
were led by the president, Mrs.
Erlin, Whitmore, assisted by
Mrs. William Rogerson, Mrs.
Mervin Falconer, Mrs. H. Johns
and Mrs. Greg McGregor. A
solo was sung by Miss Mildred
Crich.
A Bible quiz was given in
the basement by Mrs. E. Whit-
more just before the guests
were served with a delicious
lunch. The ladies on the lunch
committee were Mrs. Elmer
Townsend, Mrs. Warren Whit-
more, Mrs. Ed. Layton, Mrs.
Ken Rogerson and Mrs. M. Fal-
coner.
Chiselhurst
UCW Meet
Chiselhurst United Church
Women met Tuesday afternoon
for their April meeting. Presi-
dent Mrs. Percy Harris conduct-
ed the meeting, and opened with
a prayer, followed with the
theme. The worship, "An Eas-
ter Theme;" was in charge of
Mrs. Percy Wright, assisted by
Mrs. Clarence Coleman and
Mrs. J. Brintnell. The mission-
ary prayer was given hy Mrs.
Robert Kinsman.
Mrs. Harold Currie took the
study, which was an Easter mes-
sage. Seventeen ladies were
present. Several articles for the
bale were brought to the meet-
ing. The group reported hav-
ing made $40 at the auction
sale of Ernie Ross. The report
of the Presbyterial at Godcri,ch
was submitted by Mrs. Harris,
Mrs. R. Taylor and Mrs. Gib-
son.
The meeting was informed
that new anthem books had
been purchased for the choir.
Luncheon was, served . with
hostesses Mrs. Coleman and
Mrs. Gibson in charge.

Miss Ellis paid a fitting tri-
bute to Mrs. Beer, retiring
president, for her valued and
untiring services during her
four years in office. Mrs. Beer
replied, expressing her thanks
for the co-operation afforded
her by the members during her
term in office.
The Pennies for Friendship
collection amounted to over
$3.00. Secretary -treasurer Mrs.
Dilling reported a substantial
bank balance of approximately
$100.
Mrs. Basil Edwards presided
for the program which included
piano duets by Mrs. Ed. Munn
and Mrs. Malcolm Dougall, with
several members demonstrating
the "twist", with prizes award-
ed, Mrs. Florence Joynt pro-
vided piano accompaniment.
Courtesy remarks were given
by Mrs. W. B. Cross. Delicious
refreshments were served. Pro-
gram conveners were Mrs.
Cross and Mrs. Edwards; hos-
tesses were Mrs. Alex Mous-
seau and Mrs. Ed, Funk.

The Reeve, Councillors and Ratepayers,
The Village of Hensall.
Dear Sirs:
We have completed a'n audit of the books and accounts
of the Village of Hensall and the various boards and com-
missions of the Village for the year ending -31st Decem-
ber, 1962.
The year's operations resulted in a surplus of $3,319.41
as detailed on Statement D. The accumulated surplus as at
December 31st, 1962, is $31,858,29 as shown on Schedule C.
We have appreciated the co-operation which we have
received from the officials of your village.
We hereby report that in our opinion:
(1) The financial transactions which have come under'
our notice have been within the powers of the
municipality;
(2) The audit has been conducted in accordance with
the instructions of the - Department of Municipal
Affairs;
(3) The financial statements present fairly the financial
position of the municipality as at 31st December,
1962, and the results of its operations for the year
ended on that date.
