THOMAS T: JACKSON
A member of a Prominent
pioneer family, Thomas Tudor
Jackson died Wednesday at
his home in Egmondville. In
poor health for some years, he
was 79.
The son of the late George
Jackson and his wife, Margaret
Waugh, Mr. Jackson had spent
his entire life in Egmondville.
For many years he had been
postmaster of the village, and
was associated with his broth-
ers, the late H. M. Jackson and
George Jackson, in the tannery
business.
We was an active member of
St. Thomas' Anglican Church,
Seaforth.
Resting at the R. S. Box fun-
eral chapel until Friday when
a funeral service was held at
St. Thomas' Anglican Church,
with Rev. Harry Donaldson of-
ficiating. Temporary entomb-
ment was in Pioneer Memorial
Mausoleum, pallbearers being
Roy McGeoch, Paul Doig, Alex
Boyes, Alex Chesney, Elmer
Schade and W. C. Brown.
Flowerbearers were Bill Mac-
Lean, Lawrence Close, Robert
Close and Thomas Close.
MRS. OLIVER ANDERSON
Constance community was
shocked on Monday of last week
to learn of the passing in Sea -
forth Community Hospital of
Mrs. Oliver Anderson, in her
70th year.
She was born and had spent
her entire life in the district.
She received her education at
Kinburnhool No. 3, and was
the last surviving member of
the family of the late Robert
and Laura Clarke.
She was born Stella Clarke
and forty-three years ago was
joined in marriage at' the par-
sonage in Londesboro to her now
bereaved husband. She also
leaves to mourn her loss, one
son, Eric, and four grandchil-
dren.
A much respected citizen and
neighbor, she was always ready
to lend a helping hand and give
a • kind word. She was a great
lover of flowers and her garden.
She was a long-time member
of Cavan United Church, Win-
throp, and had been organist
for a great many years, up un-
til the time of her death.
The funeral on Thursday was
largely attended and was con-
ducted by her minister, Rev. J.
C. Britton. During the service
a beautiful solo was rendered
by Miss Margaret Hillen. The
floral tributes were evidence of
the respect in which she was
held.

Thomas, Exeter, Hensall, Croni-'

der, Hensall, and Mrs. William
Blacker, Clinton; two brothers,
Cooper, Kirkton, and Louis,
Chippewa,
A service was held at the
Bonthron funeral home, Hen-
sall, ,Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
Burial followed in Hensall Un-
ion cemetery.
EGMONDVILLE
Mr. Thomas Jackson, a life-
long resident of the village,
passed away at his home Wed-
nesday, Dec. 22, in his 90th
year. Mr. Jackson for many
years operated a tannery busi-
ness and carried on until unable
to do so.
The funeral was held on Fri-
day from St. Thomas' Anglican
Church with Rev. H. Donaldson
officiating. •
Mr. George Jackson and Miss
Elizabeth Jackson, of Toronto,
attended the funeral of their
uncle, the late Thomas Jack-
son.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Close and
family, of Kitchener, attended
the funeral of Mr. Jackson.
There were • two car accidents
in the village over the holidays.
One hit a hydro pole, plunging
part of the village in darkness
for a time. Fortunately no one
was hurt.
Mr. Rube Stevens is at pres-
ent confined to his room
through illness.
Mr. Robert Dalrymple and
Charlie spent Christmas Day
with her daughter, Mrs. Ed.
Chappel and Mr. Chappel and
family at Cromarty, and on Sun-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Varley and John. ,
