Santa on Hensall Visit
Santa Claus arrived in Hen-
sall Saturday afternoon in the
pouring rain in the fire truck,
where he was greeted by hun-
dreds of children from Hensall
and district. It was the largest
crowd ever to attend the an-
nual Christmas party, sponsor-
ed by the Hensall businessmen.
Five hundred and fifty bags
of candy and potato chips and
418 bottles of chocolate milk,
the latter donated by Ron Mock
of Hurondale Dairy, were hand-
ed out. For the first time in
the history of the event, Santa
Claus ran out of candy and
chips and had to order more.
The Town Hall was jammed
for the showing of several car-
toon films with Bill Fuss in
charge of the projector. Treats
were handed out by Chief of
Police E. R. Davis, Reeve Nor-
man H. Jones and Clerk Earl
Campbell, assisted by several
members of the Senior Citizens
Club.

President Mrs. William Fuss
chaired the meeting.
Drive is Successful
Hensall Kinsmen held their
dinner meeting Thursday night
at the Kosy Korner and had as
their guest Doug Marcell, who
is on the staff of the Bank of
Montreal. Christmas trees, an
annual project of the club, are
on sale and can be seen at the
lot on King Street, adjacent to
Crest Hardware.
It was disclosed that the re-
cent peanut drive was success-
ful. Jackages left over can be
purchased from any Kinsman
member and also at Hensall
Motor Sales, Reid's Texaco.
Hyde's Implement Shop and
Charlie's Auto Sales. President

In other business, the annual
Christmas children's party was
set for Sunday afternoon, Dec.
19. Life members and shut-ins
will be remembered with gifts
at Christmas, and money doll
draw will be held Christmas
Eve. The two adopted veterans
at Westminister will be remem-
bered at Christmas.
Members were informed that
there was a splendid response
to the recent potato chip blitz,
some 275 packages being sold.
President Mrs. Roy Smale, who
recently suffered a fire, was pre-
sented with blankets and lin-
ens by Mrs. E. Davis, on behalf
of the branch.
Prizes were won by the fol-
lowing: guessing prize, Mrs. Ed.
Munn; mystery, Mrs. Edna Hay;
attendance, Mrs. William For-
rester.

over by the president, Mrs. Roy
Smale.
