Reports were given 'on the county rally, the area conven- tion and the district banquet. Miss Brenda Kerslake, a 4-11 Homemaking Club member, was present and gave the comments on a display set up on "The Cereal Shelf." A display of the best ironed men's linen hand- kerchiefs was shown, with Mrs. Russell Worden the winner. Miss Olive Speare had the topic and her paper was on "Citizenship". The Institute have been asked to cater to the township officials' banquet, and Mrs. W. Glanville, Mrs. G. Taylor, Mrs. C. Kerslake, Mrs. T.Laing, Miss 0. Speare, Mrs. L. Miller and Mrs. R. McCaugh- ey were named the committee in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Walter O'Brien gave an amusing; reading from Miss Chapman's "Roadside Win- dows." The special feature of the evening was a display of corsages and centrepieces for Christmas, made from wood fibre. This was shown and com- mented on by Mrs. George Viv- ian. All members received a, bulb to plant, with the results to be judged at the February meeting. The meeting closed with "God Save the 'Queen," followed by lunch by the com- mittee in charge. Mr. and Mrs. John . Temple- man and family attended a par- ty at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fawcett, Mitchell, Sat- urday evening, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Annis on their 25th wedding anniversary. Staffa Women's Institute sponsored a leathercraft course in Staffa Hall. Eight ladies en- joyed the course and made sev- eral articles, including wallets, change purses and belt. ST. COLUMBAN Requiem High Mass was cele- brated at the funeral of Peter J. Murray on Friday morning in St. Columban's Roman Cath- olic Church. Rev. L. J. Cough- lin officiated. The pallbearers were Frank Murray, Jack Mur- ray, J. McIver, Basil Kelly, Dan Crowley and J. De Lafranier. Burial was in St. Columban cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sloan, of Windsor, with Mr. and Mrs. James Sloan. Miss Rita Kennedy, London, with Mr. and Mrs. Angus Ken- nedy. BOB HUARD Local hockey games will start at 8:30 p.m. The team hopes to see you at all games to sup- port them in their efforts to bring another championship to town. The team thil year belongs to the WOAA Senior Division, and besides Seaforth the following teams will take part: Port El- gin, Wiarton, Hanover, Gode- 'ich, Owen Sound. Minor Hockey in December At an executive meeting of the Seaforth Minor Hockey As- sociation, held last Tuesday night at the Legion Hall, it was decided that minor teams will start early in December. The meeting was in charge of Harry Scott. Attending were Henry Lansink, Frank Wilkin- son, Les Leonhardt, Bill Dober- ton, Martin Murray and Bob Dinsmore. The association will have three teams — Juvenile, unddr Frank Wilkinson; Midget, under Harry Scott; and Bantams, un- der Henry Lansink. Those three teams will operate in the WOAA. The towns represented in the circuit will be RCAF Sta- tion Clinton (Bantam), Clinton, Mitchell, Zurich, Hensall and Wingham (Juvenile). Referee -in -chief Bob Dins- more reported he will have en- ough referees to cope with the demand. The referees will all be in possession of their WOAA cards as required by the asso- ciation. There is a rumour that a certain individual is selling tickets on hockey games in sup- port of minor hockey. Coleman, presided over the meeting and read a poem, `Little .Town of Bethlehem." The Christmas devotional ser- vice was opened by Mrs. A. Chesney reading the Call to Worship and the singing of the hymn, "It Came Upon the Mid- night Clear." A prayer was read by Mrs. Chesney, and the offering was received by Mrs. E. Papple and dedicated. Mrs. M. Dietz read the Scripture from Luke, chapter 2, and Mrs. C. If over 12 ounces, five cents is required. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Mc- Kellar, of Seaforth, spent the weekend with Mr. Lindsay Mc- Kellar. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Jefferson spent several days visiting with Mr. and Mrs. James Leddy and Mr. and Mrs. Hilliard Jeffer- son, of Auburn; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jefferson, of Belgrave, and Misses Gladys and Irene 'efferson, of Goderich. Mrs. Ella Hulley, of Bruce - field, is visiting with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hulley, and family. Hockey Association, Harry Scott, has told us no one is authorized to sell for the asso- ciation. The only drive this year is the ticket sale of this weekend. Pullman reported that the nominating committee had not been able to complete the slate of officers for 1966, but the hope was expressed . this could be done before the end of the year, so the installation of officers could be in January. A motion was made to send a donation of $10 to the Chil- dren's Memorial Hospital in London. Mrs. Coleman remind- ed the ladies to send in the "Special Fund" aprons before the end of December. Mrs. Coleman, retiring presi- dent, expressed her thanks for co-operation that she had re- ceived, and was presented with a gift. The hymn, "0 Little Town of Bethlehem," was sung. Mrs. E. W. Durst gave a demonstration of Christmas decorations that she had made. Mrs. Coleman thanked Mrs. Durst and she was presented with a gift. Lunch was served by Group One, with Mrs. A.
