He advanced the idea that there might be organisms too small to be seen which somehow could travel from per- son to person. The first in memory of Mr. and Mrs. , James Campbell Laidlaw was un- veiled by their daughter, Miss Olive Laidlaw, shown in the upper picture. Mrs. Robert Scott and Miss Jean Scott are looking at the second plaque, which Miss Scott unveiled and which commemorates Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scott, who came to McKillop in 1833-34. Blythe is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morley Lan- nin, RR 2, Dublin, and Frances, is a daughter of Mrs. Beatrice Innes, RR 2. St. Pauls. Euchre was in charge of Charles and Earl Roney, with prizes going to Mrs. Lawrence Barker and Calvin Innes, high, and low to Mrs. George Smale and Brian Innes. A humorous address was written and read by Mrs. Dal- ton Malcolm, with Ken Brit- ton and Earl Roney, on behalf of friends and neighbors and relatives. presenting the couple with a spacesaver and an occa- sional chair. Blythe and Fran- ces both responded in their good-natured manner. Those in charge of the eve- ning entertainment were Ken Britton, Carl Roney, Earl Roney, ,John Moore, Bill Lannin, Rus- sell Roney and George Smale. Demonstrate Embroidery The UCW of Zion United Church met Wednesday even-' ing in the basement of the church with Mrs. Dalton Mal- colm as hostess. Mrs. Griffin, St. Marys, gave a demonstra- tion on liquid embroidery. About 40 ladies were present. Twenty-fifth Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Annis were surprised Saturday eve- ning when they were taken to the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fawcett, whose home was tastefully decorated, to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. Friends and rela- tives had gathered to help cele- brate the happy occasion, and the evening was spent in play- ing progressive euchre, with Mrs. Dalton Rolph winning the highest number of points for the ladies, and Mrs. Russell Roney the lowest number of points. Mr. oss Pepper had the most points for the men. and David Rolph, the lowest points. Following euchre. an address of good wishes was read by Mrs. Ross Pepper, and the cou- ple was presented with elec- trical and personal gifts. They both expressed their thanks, and after midnight a bountiful turkey supper. with all the trimmings, was enjoyed, the table being centered with a two-tiered wedding cake. On Nov. 30, 1940. Isabel Tern- pleman was united in marriage to Wilfred Annis at the bride's home in Hibbert. with the Rev, .Jamieson officiating. The bride of 25 years ago is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ern- est Templeman, of Hibbert, while Mr. Annis is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Annis, of Mitchell. Following their marriage they farmed on the groom's farm in Logan, where they still reside. They have a family of two daughters and two sons: Mrs. 1 Hol Euchre The Seaforth Ladies' Lawn. Bowling Club held their first euchre and bridge in the form of a pot -luck supper, which was held at the home of Miss Doro- thy Parke. After partaking of supper, there were two tables of bridge and three of euchre playing. Winners were: Miss Olive Laid- law, for bridge, and Dorothy Parke, for euchre. Prizes had been donated by Bess Hoggarth and Violet Broadfoot. Courtesy remarks were ex- tended for such a pleasant eve- ning. Another euchre and bridge is planned for some time in December.
