A 24year-old farmer from
Tuckersmith, Robert D. Fother-
ingham, has been awarded the
Cockshutt challenge trophy.. in
Toronto for his world cham-
pionship hay entry in The 1965
Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
Mr, Fotheringham received
an engraved replica of the tro-
phy, together with a cheque,
from the Cockshutt Company,
in the course of the annual field
,crops trophy presentation cere-
mony held at the Royal last
week. The original trophy' it-
self remains in the.care of the

Mr. Fotheringham was the
sixth winner of the trophy since
it was first put up for compe-
tition eight years ago. Although
it has been awarded every year,
two 'previous winners have won
it twice—Robert Allen, Bruce -
field, Ont., in 1958 and 1962,
and Thomas Bowman, of Stroud,
Ont., in 1959 and 1960. Other

Mr. Fotheringham had en-
tries in beans, corn and other
classes at the Royal for a num-
ber of years, and this year won
the white bean championship
for the seventh time—"but not
consecutively," he "points out.
Bub Fotheringham is associ-
ated with his father, William,
in the operation of the 165 -acre
family farm. Ile has been an
active member of 4-1-1. Clubs
and Junior Farmers for a num-
ber of years,
