St., Seaforth, have received
word that their grandson, Al-
fred .Dale; son of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Dale, of Owen Sound,
is' in Toronto General Hospital.
The accident in which his neck
was broken in two places and
his spine injured, occurred
while he was swimming at Ches-
ley Lake. Mr. Dale was mar-
ried in July:to Loraine Graves,
of Owen Sound.
Mrs. Ernest Adams, has re-
turned home from St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, where she
has been a patient since Febru-
ary.
Mr. a'nd Mrs. Russell Sproat
celebrated their 56th annivers-
ary with'a few friends and rel-
atives at dinner at the Domin-
ion -Hotel, Zurich, last week.

North- Main Street, while on a
motor trip to visit relatives in

tended the funeral of 'Mrs.
Price's father, Mr. Marshall
Cusack, age 73, who' died while.,
Mr.. and Mrs. Price were visit-
ing there. He' is survived by
his wife and nine children. Mr.
and Mrs. Dave Muir accompan-
ied Mr'. and Mrs. Price to the
Maritimes.

For Going Away
A surprise farewell party was
held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Glen Corlett Saturday eve-
ning when about 75 friends and
neighbors gathered for a social
evening.
Miss Eilene Williamson- -ipre-
pared the following program,
with Ronald Williamson acting
'as chairman: vocal' trio, Sher-
rill Craig, Lois Williamson and
Shirley Williamson; piano solo,
Nellie, Baan; vocal duet (Hill -
Billies), Lois and Shirley Wil-

A presentation of a bridge
set, including table and four
chairs and a sum of money,
was made by Clifford Hoegy and
Hugh Johnston, with Mrs. Al-,,
bert, Clarke reading the ad-
dress. Rickey and Randy .were
presented with wallets by Paul
McCallum.
The monthly, meeting of the
17th and Boundary Unit of the
UCW of Duff's United Church
was held 'at the home of Mrs.;
Harold Smalldon. The roll call
was answered by 16 members
and there were a number of
visitors present.
Mrs. Ross Bennett opened the
meeting with a 'call to worship
and Hymn 394 was sung. The
Scripture reading was from
Proverbs 22 and Mrs. Bennett
then led in prayer. Mrs. Roy
Williamson was in charge of
the topic, taken from the book.
"Adventures . With God." ' A
poem concluded the topic.
Mrs. George -Williamson pre-
sided for the business. Min-
utes and correspondence were
read. Mrs. Williamson report-
ed, on the Centennial commit-
tee, followed by a discussion.

requires for snowplowing town-
ship roads during the winter of
1965-66: ',Two power graders
which 'are to be equipped with
V•type hydraulically operated
plows of 8', minimum -width
and a wing. Tenderer to state
equipment specifications. All
equipment; and tender prices
are subject to the approval of
the Department of Highways.
Tenderers are to supply' all re-
quirements, carry public liabil-
ity insurance and Workman's
Compensation. The tender must
state the flat rate per hour (no
stand-by time). All work is to
be done under the supervision:
of the Road Superintendent and
the Department of Highways.

ber of the Ontario Commercial
Travellers' Association. A past -
master of Britannia Lodge 170

the Lodge, he had served as dis-
trict secretary. ,
Born in. Seaforth, he graduat-
ed from Seaforth Collegiate In-
stitute, and following, service
in the First War returned to
Seaforth, where he took an ac-
tive part in .the activities of the
community.
Particularly interested in
music, he was a talented singer
and for many years was a
member of the choir of First
Presbyterian Church and of the
Seaforth Highlanders Band. In
his youth he was active in . ath-
letics and was a member of suc-
cessive Seaforth hockey, foot-
ball and lacrosse teams. He
served for a number of years
on the Seaforth Fire Brigade.
Mr, Reid wfi not married
and resided with . his sister,
Miss Hazel Reid, who survives,
together with a brother, Reg-
inald, of Stratford, and another
sister Martha, Mrs. F. A. Cud -
more, of Wallaceburg.' • -
The body was at the R. S.
Box funeral home, where a ser-
vice conducted by Britannia
Lodge was held Monday eve-
ning. A funeral service, at the
funeral home, was held Tues-
day at 2:00 p.m., conducted by
Rev. Cliff Britton, of Northside
United Church. Burial was in
Maitlandbank cemetery.'
