changed marriage vows in Cav-
en Presbyterian Church, Exeter,
before the Rev. John C. Boyne.
William Bettger, Goderich,
provided wedding music and
accompanied the soloist, Miss
Sandi Morrow, London.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor -
length gown of white peau de
sole with shallow scoop neck-
line . and elbow -length sleeves.
Her °controlled skirt swept into
a short train, accented by two
peau de soie roses at the waist-
line. Her shoulder -length bouff-
ant veil of French silk -illusion
was held in place by a wedding
ring headpiece of material
matching her gown. She carried
a bouquet of cymbidium orch-
ids, stephanotis and ivy.
Miss Christena Shaw was
maid of honor for her sister,
and bridesmaids were Mrs. Bry-
an Bonthron, Toronto, and Mrs.
Mervin Shute, Kirkton. They
were gowned in red velvet en-
sembles street -length, and styl-
ed similarly to the bride's.
Three red velvet roses formed
the headdress for each attend-
ant. They harried white mums,
stephanotis/ and silvered pine.
Dean McKnight, Toronto, was
best man, and Gerald Bell, of
Hensall, and Dale Turvey, of
Exeter, ushered guests.
The wedding reception was
held at the Colonial Inn, Grand
Bend. •
For travelling, the bride wore
al woollen tweed suit in winter
LADIES' AID. MEETS
Mrs. Frank Kling, the new
president of the Ladies' Aid of
First Presbyterian Church, con-
ducted ` the business and pro-
gram for the inaugural meeting.
She opened the "meeting by
singing the solo, "Lord, Make
Me Strong," and was accompan-
ied by Mrs. J. A. McGregor. A
hymn was sung, after which the
Scripture lesson ,was read by
Mrs. R. Kerslake from Phillip-
ians. Mrs. Ed. Andrews led in
prayer and Mrs. Kerslake read
the minutes and the annual re-
port. A number of letters of
appreciation were read by Mrs.
R. K.' McFarlane.' The treas-
urer's report for December was
given by Mrs. W. E. Butt, who
also read the annual report.
Mrs. Wilfred Coleman gave
three readings, New Year
Thought", "A Recipe For New
Year's Pie" and "The Folly of
Parson Brown:" It was decided
that a pot -luck supper be• held
prior to the annual 'meeting
on Jan. 18.
Rev. D, 0. Fry was the guest
speaker and chose for his sub-
ject, "Looking At the Church
from the Pulpit and From the
Pew," and pointed out the emp-
ty pew is the tombstone of the
church.
Miss Jean Scott thanked those
who helped with the Christmas
boxes, the quilt and those who
had been active in all the efforts
of Ithe past year. The speaker
and soloist were thanked by
Mrs. McFarlane, and Rev. Fry
closed the meeting with prayer.
The little city girl question-
ed,her father, "How many kinds
of . milk are there?"
"Why, there's condensed
milk, and evaporated milk and
--but why 410 yotr ask?" .
"Well, 1 was drawing a pic-
ture of a cow, and I want . to
know flow mahy faucets to Out
white, trimmed with brown and
a gold coat.
The couple will live in Lon-
don. Both are students at the
University of Western Ontario.

Rev. Allan Logan, assisted by
the groom's uncle, Rev. Robert
Passmore, officiated at the cere-
mony in St. Paul's United
Church, Aylmer, when Patricia
Ann Armstrong and Kenneth
Gerald Passmore exchanged
marriage vows. The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Armstrong, Aylmer, and
the groom is theson of Mrs.
W. D. Barnes, Aylmer, and the
late Albert Passmore.
,The bride chose a full-length
gown of French silk cut velvet
in an orchid design, with bateau
neckline' a n d' elbow - length
sleeves. The controlled skirt
below the empire waistline was
fashioned with unpressed pleats
and a detachable chapel train
extending from double bows in
back. A velvet wedding band
headpiece held her shoulder-.
lehgth double -tiered veil of silk
illusion, and shecarried a cas-
cade bouquet of white orchids
and carnations. .
Miss Mary Armstrong was
maid of honor for her sister,
and bridesmaids were Miss
Paulette Doan, Wetaskiwin, Al-
berta, and •Miss Sharon McCon-
nell. They wore floor - length
gowns of emerald green peau
de soie with •matchingjackets,
and carried muffs of white
feathered carnations and red
roses.
Robert Passmore, brother, of
the groom, was best man, and
ushers were John. Vandewyn-
gaerd and .Robert Sharpe. .
For travelling, the bride wore
a paddy green wool two-piece
suit with matching hat, grey
wool coat with mink collar, and
corsage of white orchids.
The groom is attending Carle-
ton College in Ottawa, where
'the couple will live. The groom
is the grandson of Mr. John
Passmore, of Exeter, formerly
of Hensall.

Warriors
Win Two
Winthrop Warriors downed
Teeswater 11-4 in a WOAA In-
termediate "D" game played in
Seaforth on Monday night.
The Warriors led 3-1 at the
end of the first period, and 8-2
after the second.
Arthur Murray led the Win-
throp attack, firing four goals;
Keith Allen scored three; Frank
Malone ' had two, with singles
by, Ray Powell and Jim Strong.
Cerson scored twice for the los-
ers, with singles by Franks and
Anderson.
The Warriors now have four
wins in five games, and the
next Warrior home game will
be Monday, Jan. 11, when Mild-
may will be the opposition.
The Winthrop Warriors out-
scored Monkton 12.2 in a
WOAA Intermediate 'D' game
in Seaforth on Monday night.
Winthrop were never in trouble
against Monkton, leading 4-0 - at
the end of the first period, 8-1
after two periods of play, and
a final of 12-2.

tion of the Ontario Association

The clerk was authorized to
prepay $7,000 of the county
levy. of 1965, and also authoriz-
ed to prepare a bylaw to raise
salaries of council, reeve to
receive $250 a year and coun-
cillors $200 each• $4.00 for spe-
cial meeting; $4.00 to be de-
ducted if they miss a meeting.
Earl Campbell was hired again
as clerk -treasurer, assessor and
tax collector, at a salary of
$2,550. 'E. R. Davis was appoint-
ed as police officer and utility
man at a salary of $4,000.

Miss Wilma Branderhorst un-
derwent surgery in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, on Monday.
Hensall Women's Institute
will hold their citizenship and
education meeting Wednesday
evening in the Legion Hall. Roll
call will be, "Improvements in
our school since I was a pupil",
and the motto, "Deeds done for
yourself die with you, but deeds
for others live on". The guest
speaker is Sister Eileen Marie,
of . Sacred Heart Convent, Zur-
ich.

Hensall - Chiselhurst Young
People met Sunday. Doug Cur-
rie and his group were in
charge of the meeting. Eric
Ross, Susan Stinson, Robert Mc-
Naughton and Doug Currie took
part in the devotional. Suzanne
Runic sang a beautiful solo,
"God HJath Not Promised." A
film, "Freedom in Their Soul,"
was shown. A record, "Don
Lonie Talks Again," was play-
ed and 'was enjoyed by all;.
many things were learffed from
it. Doug Currie directed two
games, and Rev. Currie closed
with the benediction. A total
of 27 were present.

held at her home on Wednes-
day„ afternoon, Dec. 30. Mrs.
John Templeman presided• and
opened the. meeting with the
Institute Ode and Mary Stew-
art Collect.
Mrs. 'Carter Kerslake present-

a fine paper on the motto,
"A wagon wheel needs every '
spoke to run smoothly." There
were 18 members and four visi-
tors present, and the roll call
was -answered by a Christmas
custom in our home. .
Mrs. Gerald Agar had charge
of the feature number, which �
was Kay Worden showing a
film on Water Safety, after
which Kay, with Margaret Wor-
den's assistance, demonstrated
the proper way to give mouth
to mouth respiration. '
On behalf of the institute'
members, Miss Vera Hambley
presented Mrs. Penelope Fell
with a life membership for ov-
er 50. years of continual mem-
bership in Staffa Institute.
Through the years, Mars. Fell
has held -most offices in the in-
stitute and has always been a
faithful and willing helper.
Gifts to be included' in the
institute's birthday box to their
orphan child in Korea were
handed in. Everyone was re-
minded that the 4-H Achieve-
ment Day 'for the Club Girl
Stands on Guard is to be held
Saturday,..Jan. 30, in Mitchell
District Hight School.
Margaret Worden favored
with a solo, and many readings,
jokes, musical numbers and
contests w re enjoyed as the
topic was Pot -luck, with every-
one contributing. •

the township officials and- wives,
