Highway
Crash
Two men were injured in a
two -car crash on Highway 8,
just west of here early on the
morning of August 1.
Robert Eickmeyer, 23, of RR
4. Mitchell, was taken to Scott
Memorial Hospital and later re-
moved to Victoria Hospital,
London, with a fractured hip
and facial lacerations. Robert
, Jacob Weitzel, 22, of Mitchell,
was treated for facial lacera-
tions and released.
Their car was in collision
with a westbound car driven
by Cpl. Napoleon G. LeBlanc,
of RCAF Station Clinton, A
passenger in the, LeBlanc car
was Cpl. George Robertson, who
received back and kidney injur-
ies. Seaforth provincial police
investigated:

The monthly meeting of the
Women's Institute will be held
Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 8:30
p.m., instead of the regular
meeting date. A film, "The
Horn of Plenty," will be shown
with Mrs. Nelson Reid and Mrs.
Clarence Martin as co -conven-
ers. Guest institutes will be
present, and special musical
numbers will be presented. Roll

McKillop Unit
The monthly meeting of the
McKillop Unit was held Wed-
nesday afternoon at the home
of Mrs. Murray Dennis with 18
adults and 29 children present.
Mrs. William Roe opened the
'meeting with a reading. entit-
led, "Praise." Hymn 616, "Holy
Spirit, Hear Us," was followed
with a story by Marjann Wild-
fong. Prayer was offered by
Betty Roe, after which Jean Roe
read the Scripture. •
The topic, "Mayling Was Shy,"
was given ` by Mrs. Norman
Schade. The closing hymn,
-Praise Him, Praise Him, All
Ye Little Children," was •sung
and the Mizpah benediction re-
peated in unison.
A picnic, including races and
contests, was enjoyed follow-
ing the meeting, after which a
lunch was served.

SQHS Students Learn
Grade 13Exam Results
Robert Muegge was top stu-
dent when SDHS Grade 13 ex-
am results were announced
Wednesday.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Gor-
don Muegge, Seaforth, he ob-.
tamed 74% on nine papers. He
plans to attend University of
Waterloo. Students were suc-
cessful in passing 82% of the
papers written.
"With one or two exceptions,
results were about what we ex-
pected," L. P. Plumsteel, SDHS
principal said, and added, that
most of the students who wrote
the exams would be able to do
what they had planned.

tions at Jowett's Grove, Bay-
field, on Wednesday.

While Threshing
Stewart Wilson, Brucefield,
was injured Monday night when
he lost a finger in a threshing
'machine. He is in Scott Mem-
orial Hospital.

Set For November 15
Dial telephones come to Sea -
forth on November 15, accord-
ing to W. W. Haysom, area Bell
Telephone manager. Mr. Hay-
som said dial switching equip-
ment is now being installed in
the new telephone buildings, in
both Seaforth and Hensall, • in
preparation for the introduc-
tion of dial service.

telephone needs, equipment al-
lowing for 2,000 terminals -
each representing a telpehone
number -is being installed in
the new building on Chalk St.
In Hensall, equipment .provid.
ing 1,200 terminals, is being
installed in the building on the
east side of Highway 4.
All of the equipment being
installed has been designed and
manufactured to meet the spe-
cific requirements of both Sea -
forth and of Hensall, W. W.
Haysom, Bell Telephone manag-
er in this area, explained.
Referring to the many activi-
ties surrounding the dial con-
versions, Mr. Haysom said all
phases of the projects are pro-
gressing according to schedule.
