Has Meeting
The May meeting of Bruce -
field UCW was held in the
church, with 30 ladies present.
Group IV had charge of the
program and worship, India be-
ing the topic. Mrs. Vic Har-
greaves and . Mrs. Fred McGre-
gor were dressed in native cos-
tume. A tape recording on Wo-
men of India was given, M
R. Allan and Mrs. Plant led
in a discussion, which was en-
joyed by all. Mrs. Allan Hill,
Mrs. Arnold Taylor and Mrs,
Plant led in the worship ser-
vice, - with Margaret McQueen
as pianist. The offering was re-
ceived and dedicated. Mrs. Al-
lan Hill led in- the closing
prayer.'
Mrs. Harvey Taylor took the
chair for the business part of
the meeting, and expressd the
sympathy of all to Mrs. Elliott
in the loss of her father. Min-
utes of the past meeting were
read and adopted, and roll call
answered by a verse honoring
'Mother'.
The treasurer's report was
given a n d bills presented.
Thank - you notes from Miss
Tena McNaughton, Mrs. Dutot
and Mrs. Dnn Brodie were read.
Mrs. L. Wilson expressed thanks
for cards received. An invita
tion" to all to attend. Visitor's
Day at Clinton Hospital on May
13th was received; also from
Goshen tTCW, to attend their
Spring Thankoffering on May
20, at 8:30, which was accept-
ed
A reminder from Westmin-
ster College was tabled. Peti-
tions to be sent to each Unit
regarding the . advertising of
beer, on, TV was read, to be
sent to Mrs. R. McKercher.

that two delegates be sent` to

Thomas, Group IV to look 'af-
ter same. Mrs. Plant gave a
short report on Presbyterial
held in Exeter. Mrs. Elliott re-
ported for stewards. The 'sup-
ply committee is to look after
packing and shipping of bale;
and the social committee to look
after lunch for vacation school
in. •July,
Visitors' Day will be 'June 2,
with Hensall and Seaforth Unit-
ed Churches as guests. Mrs.
Scott invited the ladies to her
home at Bayfield for the picnic
meeting July 4th, Group IV to
look after, junior sports, and,
Mrs. John McGregor, the . sen-
ior group.
The meeting -closed with
prayer by Mrs, Taylor. A love-
ly lunch was served by ladies
of Group IV, concluding an in-
teresting meeting,

Reviews Year's Activity
Hurondale- -Branch was hos-
tess Thursday at the annual
meeting of South Huron District
Women's Institute The meet-
ing was held in Thames Road
United Church, and opened with
the opening ode and the Mary
Stewart Collect. Mrs. McFalls,
of Hurondale, gave the address
of welcome and Mrs. Ross Skin-
ner of Elimville branch, replied.
The roll call of the branches
was answered by the president
of each branch giving the res-
ume of a most interesting meet-
ing during the year. Ninety-
two members answered the roll.
The district directors were rati-
fied by Mrs. John "McLean, the
provincial board member. The
secretary reported 373 senior
members in South Huron, and
41 juniors. Total assets, $8,-
463.73; total", expenditures, $6,-
402.65; balance, $2,061.08. Hen-
sall branch invited the Huron
County Rally to Hensall,

included: Agriculture and Can-
adian Industries, Mrs. Gordan
Papple; Horne Economics and
Health, Mrs. Newell Geiger;
Historical Research and Current

in memory of departed mem-
bers.
