Former Resident Passes
Word has been received in
Hensall of the death of Mrs.
William Clemens, the "-'former
Muriel Hoskins, a native of
Hensall, 'Who passed away in St.
Catharines where she resided,
on Thursday, May 7th, in her
47th year.
Surviving are her husband,'
three sons, one daughter, five
sisters, including Mrs. Vernon
Hedden, St. --Catharines. Fun-
eral services were . held Satur-
day in St. Catharines.

Hensall Legion
Ladies Meet
President Mrs. Roy Smale
chaired the May meeting of
Hensall Legion Ladies' Auxil-
iary held Tuesday evening in
the Legion Hall, when plans
were made and committees
formed for a banquet Friday
evening, May 29, for a corn-
memoration dinner for Hensall
Branch 468 of the Royal. Cana-
dian Legion, who are sponsor
ing a "reunion" of its members
who were veterans of the 1914:
18 conflict,.
.Plans were discussed for the
annual penny sale. A donation
of $25, Was_ given to the Hen-
sall Cbs and $Fouts. Past
preaitlent • Mrs. William Smale
presented Mrs. E> R. Davis ,with
her past seeretary's badge.
The mystery prize was won
by Mrs. Maude Redden; guess-
ing prize, Mrs. Irobert McKen-
zie; and ;attendance prize of
$8:00 wee won by Mrs. E. R.,
Davis, • Bingo was played and
refreshments served:

son, and Karen Broderick gave
the ,prayer.
Each of the children brought
their gift boxes to the, worship
centre. Pamela Mickle and Bill
Drysdale took up the offering
and it was dedicated by John
Blackwell and Wayne Corbett.
Mrs. John Corbett welcomed
the mothers and visitors. A
piano duet by Catharine Anne
Christie and Carmen Currie was
much enjoyed. Mfrs. Christie
gave a brief outline on the
study of India, telling of the
work of the two Christian medi-
cal colleges and hospital name-
ly, Ludiana in North India and
Vellore in South India, after
which the motion picture, "Su-
gar and Spice': was much en-
joyed by children and ' adults.
The Messengers sang an Indian
song, "Suder, Suder." Timmy
Mock favored with - beautiful
solo, "This is My Father's
World:"
Mrs. J. Corbett gave a vote
of thanks to all. After the clos-
ing hymn, "Father, We Thank
Thee," Cathy Fuss pronounced
the benediction.

byterian Church, Sunday at 11
a.m. Members are asked to
meet at the lodge room at 1010.

Mrs. Elizabeth Pybus, widow
of the date William Pybus, of
Exeter, passed away in South
Huron Hospital, Eketer, Mon-
day, in her 84th year. The for-
mer Elizabeth M. Johns, she
was a lifelong resident -of. the
area, She was organist for
Chiselhurst United Church for
many years.
Surviving are a stepdaughter,
Mrs. Robert' Bragg, West Lorne.
Funeral services were held on
Wednesday from the Hopper -
Hockey funeral' home, Exeter.'

meeting of ,Unit Four, UCW,
Thursday afternoon, with an at-
tendance. of 40. For her topic

Home Missions and Steward-

spiring and ' informative. Mrs.
E. Rowe, who presided for the

Mrs. Harry -Caldwell present-
ed' the devotional on the 19th
Psalm, followed with meditation
en the subject. Mrs. W. H.
Weeks offered prayer. Mrs.
Harold Currie was soloist and
Mrs. T. Sherritt, accompanist.
Mrs. James McAllister pre-
sided for the business. Mrs.
Laird Mickle reported for the
visitation committee as having
made 17 calls on sick and shut-
ins in the village. June 24th
was a tentative -date set for
the annual smorgasbord, and
the annual bazaar will be held
in November. The semi-annual
bale will be packed Tuesday,
June 2nd', The group was in-
formed that there was a won-
derful response for good warm
clothing for a family of five
children.

Robert Love, of Heneall, has'
been appointed assistant profes-
sor of business administration
at Berkeley College, University
of California. Mr. Love ha had
a varied career fo educe ion.
He attended Clinton igh
School, and in his final year
won the Cooper Scholarship for
top student in his grade.
From there heti went to To-
ronto University for four years,
taking the business and en-
gineering course. He received
his B.A. Sc. degree, also faking
part of the business course. Ile
was with Anthes . Imperial of
St. Catharines for three years
in the engineering department:

ed Western Univergity_Jef".Lan:"
don and received his *M.B.A. de-
gree, followed by a year with
the Vancouver Plywood . Co.,
with head office in London.
From there he went td Stanford
University of, California for
three years, and. will graduate'
in June with PH.D. degree.
Mr. Love is the eldest son
of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love, Hen -
sail, 'and lives at Palo Alto,
Cal.' He is married and has one
son and a daughter.

the Town Hall Monday night,
