A lovely wedding of wide in-
terest was solemnized ..at the
Evangelical United Brethren
Church, Dashwood,Saturday,
May 2, when Mary_ Jane Hoff-
man, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
T. Harry Hoffman, Dashwood,
became the bride of John
Franklin Taylor, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Taylor, Exeter,
with .Rev. Merrill James officiat—
ing.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, was lovely in a
floor -length wedding gown of
organza over taffeta with con-
trolled skirt and chapel train.
Appliques of French lace ac-
cented the short pleated sleeves
and the front of the gown. She
carried a cascade of gardenias
and lily of the valley.
Miss Connie Spellman, Kit-
chener, as maid of honor, and
Miss Lynda Tieman, Dashwood,
and Miss Marcia Desjardine,
London, as bridesmaids, were
gowned alike in. street -length
dresses of yellow satapeau with
bell-shaped skirts, scoop neck-
lines, three-quarter sleeves and
tiny bows at the waist. They
carried crescents of white shas-
ta daisies and ivy,, Miss Judy
Mepham, London, was flower -
girl, wearing a'"white dres§ of
satapeau featuring a yellow
cummberbund and . carrying a
nosegay of yellow daisies.
Bill Pincombe, Exeter, at-
tended the groom, and Robert
Hoffman, brother of the bride,
and Robert Mepham, London,
brother-in-law of the groom,
ushered guests.
Mrs. Robert Baynham, Dash-
wood, was soloist, and was ac-
companied by Mrs. Ken McCrae,
as she sang, "Two Shall Be.One"
and "Wedding• Prayer.'
A reception was held in the
church rooms, where t h e
bride's mother received in a
camellia white wool Crepe suit
with pink accessories. She was
assisted by the groom's mother
in a whisper pink suite of peb-
ble crepe with pink and beige
accessories.
For a honeymoon trip to New
York, the bride donned a yel-
low and white silk print dress
with yellow topcoat and patent
accessories. Her corsage was
of Talisman roses. The coupl
will reside in Exeter. •

from ColIingwood; Southamp-
ton, -Kitchener, Waterloo, To-
ronto, London, Stratford, Zur-
ich, Grand Bend, Exeter, Hen-,
sall and Richmond Hill.

A SONG FOR YOU --. Jose Poneira is the informal host
of the musical program, "A Song For You," seen on CBC
television each Saturday. Jose, who began his broadcasting
career as a boy entertainer in La Paz, Bolivia, plays piano
and sings popular songs in his own easy, relaxed style.
Each week the program introduces a guest singer to help
out with what- he describes as "unpretentious living -room
entertainment." A Song For You is a'CBC Winnipeg pro-
duction.

Council discussed a proposed
grant toward Exeter swimming
pool; new developments •in
school financing outlined to
council; a further sum of $8, -
now available through
t :: Municipal Works Assistance
Program and the possibility of
a further amount at the 1st of
June.
The treasurer was directed to
make a new application to the
Department of Municipal Af-
fairs for the maximum loan of
two-thirds of the net prescrib-
ed cost of the new central
school on behalf of the Public
School Board. It was agreed
that all available M.W.A.P. loan
monies available to the town-
ship be made available to the
Public School Board.
Drainage courts of revision
were held on Deelstra, Dayman,
McElrea and Taylor Municipal
Drains. Engineer J. A. Howes
was present and one formal ap-
peal, that of Mrs. G. Allen, lot
11,- con. 12, after consideration,
was disallowed.
