The president, •Marilyn Marshall,, opened the meeting, followed by the roll call with 20 mem- bers present. Minutes were read by Murray'Hoover and the treasurer's report was given by Den Pullen. Chairmen were elected for the various• events at the Huron - Perth Field Day, which is to be held at Seaforth on June 27th. A committee was formed to se- cure a project to celebrate the 50th anniversary, and Morris Love gave a report on the ac- tivities which have 'been plan- ned for -the Peterboro exchange. Brucefield Messengers held their May meeting. on Sun- day. The worship service on the theme, ."Being happy while. we work," was capably conduct -- ed by the Mustard boys. A story of a little Indian village was part of the worship. An agri- culture missionary has helped the villagers, who are mostly farmers,' to grow better crops. The village parents were wor, ried because there was no school. A Christian farmer donated . 10_1a,0__-arid__,same wood for building. Everyone of- fered to help, The Board of Christian Service of the -United Church of Northern India gave them tiles for the roof. Every- one worked hard and sang as they worked. When the school was finished the children went to the fields and dug wild roses and marigolds to plant in the yard. The Christian teacher liv- ed in the school and was pleas- ed with the home. Adults learn- ed to read. Because everyone had worked together they were learning about God and His love for them, and the people of Pempura were serving the Lord with gladness. The Swan boys will conduct the June worship. The third chapter, "Kiran Pians a Present," of the study book was reviewed. The Mes- senger donation at the Dedica- tion to Mission Service was $6, which included monthly offer- ings and a special donatioh from the Mustard boys, Glen McGregor distributed copies of "World Friends" mag- azine.
