One person (a teacher) never did get to read his fortune. The cookie must have been so delicious that fortune and all went with it. The students' council did an excellent job of handling the affair, along with the aid of many other students through- out the school. Formal The Seaforth District - High School held their annual At - Home Friday evening. An av- erage attendance danced to, the music, of Lionel Thornton and his Casa Royal Orchestra. The decorations were perhaps the best they have been for the last few years. The Orient be- ing the theme, had Japanese girls, lanterns and scenery to fit the occasion. Blue and white streamers filled the top of the dance floor to finish off the setting. Lunch was served by the and family, of Sebringville, spent the weekend with Mrs. Phoebe Millson. Mr. and Mrs. Verne Dale spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Murray Dale and baby (laugh. - ter, Deborah Ann, of Byron. Mr. and Mrs. George Turner and Linda, of Tuckersmith, spent 'Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Reg Lawson. Mr. and Mrs. Verne Dale vis- ited with Mrs. Dale's sister, Mrs. Will Webster and Mr. Webster on Monday. Mrs. Webster re- turned home on Sunday from -Wingham Hospital-•_.....-.--_� Mr. George Harkness and Norman Wilson, of Teeswater, spent last Wednesday evening at the home of •Mr, and Mrs. Robert Grimoldby. Mr. and •Mrs. Robert Woods, Debbie and Michelle, of Ajax, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. F. Riley. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grim- oldby spent Wednesday atthe home of Mrs. Pearl McFarlane, near .Goderich, who has just returned from London Hospital. • • •A butcher is about the only person who won't put on any extra weight. Cadets The boys are now having the fun and enjoyment from 3:30 to 4:00 marching. The Grade 10 repeaters and Grade 11 stu- dents are having rifle drill, while Grade 9 learn the basic steps. The uniforms are being hand- ed out and many of the boys have received their attire. The cadet inspection isn't for an- other couple of weeks. This will give the boys ample time to prepare for that day. Field Day Field day, which is now held in the fall months of school, is being drawn up by the head of the physical education depart- ment. As usual, all students are graded into junior, • intermedi- ate and senior. - In General The girls are now deep into their badmintontournament, which will last for two weeks or more. - There still is• awards day to look forward to. That day these students who have been out- standing throughout the entire year will receive awards.
