Take tact and kindness, a pound of each will do; sprinkle with a sense of humour, a hearty laugh or two. Add some hard work, but not too much; be generous with the patience, but don't forget the flattery, it often makes the „difference, Stir in faith, hope and .honesty, some praise to make it light; then sometimes just to let off steam you can add a friendly fight. Never use deceit, spite or sar- casm, and go easy on the tears; follow this - recipe and your marriage ,will last for many years, And nots we ask you to• ac- cept these gifts, and as you use them day by day, may you think of us all. We hope you hate ••a long and happy wedded life together. — Signed on be- half of your Neighbors and Friends."
