A. year ago at the ratepayers'
meeting it was indicated that
some ratepayers desired to es-
tablish a bus, service. It' was
not until, some months later
that a committee was :formed
to investigate the possibilities,
and in particular the cost of
the project -to the ratepayers,
Mr. Devereaux gave a condens-
ed outline of the -findings of
the committee to indicate an Win "prizes In
estimate 'of possible. costs. He
stressed the .amounts were esti- a
mates only. -'It was pointed-out—Christ mas D that there would be • a grant
covering 70 per cent of the. In a Christmas draw at Keat-
cost' ing's,a walking doll was won

amount would be $3,600. The' by John Scott, son.; of Mr. and

with the result that it would . .
cost $460 per month.'This weuld
total $4,600 for 10 months, thus
the cost to the board would be
$2,066. .The cost, when worked
out .in .mills to the taxpayer,
would result in 5% mills for
town and 2% mills for town-
ship. Much was said in regard,
to the possible raise in taxes,
but since a complete, investiga-
tiondhad not been made, it was
felt that• there is every possi-
bility • that • the costs may be
lower. A decision on the mat-
ter lies : with the board.
The second part of the report
as indicated by ' the school in-
spector, ,was the possibility;: ac-
cording to the School Act,
whereby other boards could ' be
formed and they could join
with the -present board to estab-
lish a larger area. This involves
much detail, according .to the
present board and the inspector,"
