The Forensic Unit was at the scene early Fri- day morning photographing the shattered glass and broken doors of the three Huron Street addresses that were forcibly entered. One store, Stockyards Western Apparel, was also attempted to be entered from the rear of the building while Wilma's Corner Shop had a sec- tion of glass smashed from its Queen Street entrance. Debbie France of Sole Energy describe the break and enter as a smash and grab. "Basically it was a smash and grab and they were just after money," she said sweeping clean shards of glass from the lip of her doorway. "They didn't damage anything else in the shop. They just busted the window and went straight to where the tills were and took money." France said the intruders stole $150 from her register. Her shop shares an entranceway with All About hair, which was also burgled, but its proprietor didn't not want to tell say how much was stolen. Orchids Hair Design, one door down from Sole Energy, was robbed of about $500 and an iPad, said Emily Gibson who co-owns the hair salon with her sister. She said there is nothing they can do as the amount taken isn't enough to file it with the insurance company. While the intruder stole the money and the tablet, they left behind a computer sitting on the counter, which leads her to think whomever it was was only after cash. "It sucks," she said. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1 -800 -222 -TIPS. Darryl Coote/Reporter Ruby Andrew, aged 2, shows off art she made during Story Time at the Lucknow Public Library on the morning of May 13, 2016. Library clerk Karen McGugan said the program, which runs in Lucknow on Fridays at 10 a.m. and at the Ripley Library Thursdays at 10:30 a.m., is an interactive way to encourage literacy among preschoolers. Each week McGugan reads books to the children on a particular topic and instructs them through games, as well as arts and crafts.
