Huron Federation of Ag. marks 75th anniversary with gala The Huron County Federa- tion of Agriculture held its 75th Anniversary gala on Sat- urday, April 9, 2016 in Goderich. Over 320 people joined together to celebrate both a strong history and the people who continue to make agricul- ture in Huron vibrant. The evening included a locally sourced gourmet meal, histori- cal information and memora- bilia, a humourous presentation from IPM2017, and a live auction. The Gala, "Planting the Seed for the Harvest of Huron," in addition to celebrating the anniversary, was also a fund- raising event. The funds raised from the evening will be assist- ing in the start-up of a Huron County Food Court for the International Plowing Match in 2017. The food court will be incorporating commodities from throughout the county, from which proceeds will be used to give back to the community. LUCKNOW NEWS Make sure to take in new HAWK Theatre performance Ruth Dobrensky Did you get out to the HAWK Theatre production of "Sex Please, We're Sixty" this past weekend? If you didn't, the hilarious play will be playing again tomorrow night through to Saturday night. Catch a performance if you can, you won't regret it. It was very busy around Luc - know this past weekend with the town -wide yard sale taking place all over the place. You could hardly find a street that wasn't taking part in the sale. I hope everyone found the bar- gains they were looking for. If you weren't looking for a bar- gain, there were also several places where you could buy lunch and many home-made goodies. Here's hoping every- one had a good time. Last Thursday was also very busy with the "Pitch -In Can- ada" event happening around town. It makes a difference around town in that, Lucknow gets a helping hand to get cleaned up and looking it's best. Thanks to all who came out and helped. I noticed in last week's paper that the student art exhibit at the Blyth Gallery is once again open. I always take in this show as many of our local students have exhibits there. It's worth taking in the show just to see the great talent we have in our youth, and it's always nice to see the local young people who are involved in the show.
