the students about character building
and sportsmanship.
"Students were veryinterested in lis-

ing character, perseverance and good
sportsmanship;' wrote Principal Gra-

The visit was one of 18 the Attackwill
do as part of its 2015-16 tour of schools
in the Bluewater District School Board,
its Marketing and Public Relations
Director Brent Fisher said over the
phone.
"Our School Program allows stu-
dents and teachers to see our student
athletes as more than justhockeyplay-
ers. Our young men are smart, articu-
late and well rounded for their age and
we believe that they can connect with
kids on a level that may be a different
than that of an adult" Fisher said.
The program is casual, but effective,
he said.
"We do not bombard the kids with
information. We try to be as open and
honest as we can with the kid," Fisher
said.
The Owen Sound Attack currently
sit fourth in the OHL's Midwest Divi-
sion behind perennial powerhouses
Erie Otters, London Knights and ICitch-
ener Rangers. They have 62 points.
CRT scammers very active in Huron County, says OPP
Fraudsters have been extremely
active in Huron County attempting
to swindle residents of their money
through a scam known as the Can-
ada Revenue Agency (CRA) tax
scam.
"This particular scam tends to
peak around tax season and now
that many of us are in the midst of fil-
ing our tax returns we are experienc-
ing a rise in this particular scam,"
reads a Feb. 26 Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
press release.
Huron County OPP received sev-
eral calls in the past week from resi-
dents reporting fraudsters have been
trying to impersonate Canada Reve-
nue Agency (CRA) employees in an
effort to pull off the scam.
Generally there are two common
variations to the scam, according to
local OPP.
Variation 1 - The scammer will
inform you by email or phone that
you are entitled to a tax refund or
benefit payment. In order to receive
the payment you must provide per-
sonal information such as your social
insurance number, credit card num-
ber, bank account number, or pass-
port number.
Variation 2 - The scammer will call
you or send you an email message
informing you that you owe back
taxes as a result of an audit. The
scammer will often use threatening
or coercive language to scare you
into paying a fictitious debt to the
CRA. Threats made by the scammers
indicating that you will be arrested,
deported or a lien placed on your
home or vehicle are commonly used.
OPP is urging residents to protect
themselves and to be aware of this
scam through offering several tips to
Dungannon Youth Group looks to
council to expand summer camp
The Dungannon Youth Group met
with ACW Council a few weeks ago
with a request for funds. The group is
wanting to paint the Dungannon Play-
ground Equipment, at their own
expense and asked council for permis-
sion to do so.
The Youth also discussed their
desire to host a large summer camp in
Dungannon this year. They have
hosted many smaller camps in the
past, all which have had positive
outcomes.
This idea, however, would be much
bigger, and employ 2-3 students and
create jobs for youths in Dungannon.
The request was for $10,000 to pay

There is an old joke that says you
know you are in a small town
because pickup trucks outnumber
cars. I think this just might apply to
Dungannon. There are at least four
trucks on our street alone. Jim,
Jamie and Dillon Geddes all drive
trucks as well as me. Jim, Dillon
and Brandon Geddes all work at
Helm's welding in Lucknow as do
wages, and they were somewhat dis-
couraged and prompted to go smallet
The Youth stuck to their original
plan of what they want to do in Dun-
gannon, and it was referred to budget
discussion in March. It was a great
experience for the youth group and
with a focus on all youth in our com-
munity, they are eager to hear back
from council. Ron and Lisa Brindley
hosted their annual Vmtage Snowmo-
bile Show last weekend. A great turn-
out as always, and a great social time
for the community. The ice rink in
Dungannon has been well used this
winter as the weather cooperates now
and again.
