LUCKNOW NEWS
Lucknow News acknowledges Zinn 65th wedding anniversary
Ruth Dobrensky
Happy 65th wedding anni-
versary to Marian and Warren
Zinn. That's quite a milestone
and all of Lucknow wishes you
a wonderful day tomorrow.
Also happening tomorrow is
the Lucknow Sepoy Ranees cel-
ebration of Queen Elizabeth's
90th birthday at the Town Hall.
According to last week's
paper, this is the season for
mosquito and tick bites. The
article described how to
remove a tick and to take it to
the Huron Health Unit for iden-
tification. So, for everyone's
information, the place to go in
Wingham is the new health
centre at the former public
school and the phone number
is 519-357-4993.
It appears that this is also the
season for black bears wander-
ing and bees swarming
throughout the area. We've had
a few such occurrences around
Lucknow as well and it can be
scary. If you spot any in the
area call the Ministry of Natural
Resources or an Apiary in the
area for assistance and
removal.
It's the season for church
anniversaries, and this past
Sunday, Ashfield Presbyterian
also celebrated their anniver-
sary with a special service and
music.
I recently saw an accident
happen here in town that could
have been avoided, a car shot
out of a side street and hit a
pick-up truck who had the right
of way. Stop signs are supposed
to prevent accidents, don't
ignore them, they could save
yours and someone else's life.
Sympathies of the commu-
nity to the family of Margaret
Murray, 72, Burlington (for-
merly Lucknow). Several of
Margaret's relatives came from
England for the funeral last Fri-
day, including her sister Moira.
