Part-time Starting: February 29, 2016
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
• Responsible for the service of meals, including therapeutic diets (patient
database and composite menus), special patient orders and hospitality/retail
tems.
• Communicates with patients concerning food preferences from semi -
selective menu at point of service and maintains open communication with
Manager NFS or Clinical Dietitian.
• Responsible for the planning and preparation of menu items when doing the
NA2 or cook shifts.
• In the cook role, monitor food inventory and purchase supplies accordingly.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma
• 1 year healthcare foodservice experience and knowledge of therapeutic diets
• Certificate in Safe Food Handling
• Cook Certification — equivalent to Industrial Cook (for the cook shift)
ABILITIES:
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Computer literacy (order entry system and Microsoft office, email)
• Effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, colleagues
and management staff
• Flexible and self-directed with ability to organize and prioritize a changing
workload
• Constant walking, standing, lifting (primarily less than 20 lbs), bending and
movement of heavy equipment (e.g. retherm and auxiliary carts)
HOURS OF WORK: Must be available to work days (6:30am — 2:30pm,
7:OOam — 3:OOpm) and evening shifts (11:OOam — 3:OOpm, 3:OOpm — 7:OOpm)
and weekends as required
