The Lucknow Sentinel, 2016-12-14, Page 5Lucknow Pet Rescue in need of litter
and food for animal foster homes
Pet Rescue has 56 cats and
kittens and 22 adoptable dogs
in their foster care program.
The majority of the 15 small
dogs are dogs discarded by
the breeder when they are no
longer producing pups.
The seven larger dogs
were found at large by ani-
mal control, or surrendered
by their breeder or owners.
The rescue has to pur-
chase the supplies for the
pets during their stay.
Adult small breed dog food,
adult large breed dog food,
kitten food, and cat food is not
cheap, let alone for more than
75 pets at a time.Specialty
diets from the vets are also
needed in some cases.
Collars, ID tags, leashes,
travel crates, training crates,
litter, litter pans, and beds
are a few of the items we
need everyday for the pets.
We are happy to accept
good used carriers and crates.
Pet Valu in Goderich and
Kincardine collects dona-
tions specifically for Pet Res-
cue, and also sells gift cards.
Pet Rescue often buys a
skid of litter or food at a time
to be more cost effective.
Walkerton -Hanover vet has a
donation binforus in their front
lobbywhere items can be left.
Donations of gift cards to Pet
Valu are greatly appreciated.
Monetary donations are
also gratefully accepted, and
can be sent by e -transfer to
petrescue@hurontel. on. ca
or paypal, or they can also be
mailed to us, just email or
call for the mailing address,
or arrangements can be
made for the rescue to pick
donations up.
Please call and leave a
message at 519-357-5515 if
you have a donation and
need more information.We
will reply asap.
The rescue took in over
200 abandoned cats to spay
and neuter since last Fall,
and close to 100 dogs as well.
The regular vetting often
costs more than the adoption
fee, let alone the extra vetting
needed in many cases.
We want to wish everyone
a Merry Christmas and won-
derful holiday season. Thank
you for your support!

Lucknow Music in the Fields Early Bird tickets on sale until Dec. 31
If you still aren't sure what
to get that special someone
for Christmas, Lucknow's
Music in the Fields Early
Bird Tickets are on sale until
Dec. 31, 2016.
This Christmas special
offers tickets for a reduced
rate of $135, with prices
increasing to $150 in the new
year.
This year's festival has
some big changes in store.
The biggest news being that
Lucknow's Music in the
Fields is moving!
The event is relocating to
the 55 acre "Graceland"
grounds, revealed last year
as a new campground. This
venue has been developed
and improved throughout
the year and will not only
accommodate all campers,
but will also host the entire
festival grounds that will
serve as the new home for
the event. Now with all
campgrounds in the same
geographical area as the
festival, guests can easily
visit their friends and par-
take in all of the activities
planned for daytime
entertainment.
"Although the Lucknow
Soccer Fields and surround-
ing neighbourhood served
the event very well in the
past, this new location will
set a whole new standard for
proximity and access to
accommodate this increas-
ing fan experience," festival
co-chair Ken Irwin said in a
media release. "Now every-
one will basically be just out-
side the front gate of the
festival!"
As always, free parking
and shuttle service will be
provided throughout the
weekend to ensure patrons
have easy access to the town.
An improved security pro-
gram will also ensure a safe
and secure event for all.
Another exciting change
for this upcoming summer is
single wristband access.
Nothing brings a smile to our faces
faster than recalling the
friendship and
kindness of all the
good folks we've had
the pleasure to serve
this year.
