A day to honour Dave Farrish,
the man who brought the
Stanley Cup to Lucknow
CONTINUED FROM > PAGE 1
The arena already has items
on display chronicling Far-
rish's career including a pair of
signed gloves, a helmet, a
Sudbury Wolves jacket from
his Junior days and a Luc -
know hockey letterman jacket
from the 67-68 season, among
other collectables.
The idea, Hackett said, is
along with christening the
entrance the Dave Farrish
Foyer, they will also rename
the current multi-purpose
room and have his signature
painted on the wall in the
style of Henderson's signa-
ture located on the second
floor of the arena.
They would then decorate
the room with the
memorabilia.
"[The multi-purpose
room] is probably used every
day of the week actually,"
Hackett said. "So what we're
going to be doing is renam-
ing that as well as the front
entrance area. So that's
where the Farrish Foyer will
come into play."
On Dave Farrish Day,
Cranston and Hackett are
planning an unveiling cere-
mony of the foyer and the
multipurpose room. The
event will be open to the
public and give residents a
chance to meet Farrish.
"We figured a lot of people
will want to come and talk
and see him again after all
these year," Cranston said.
The party would then
make its way over to the
Royal Canadian Legion on
Inglis Street for cocktail hour
and a silent auction, for
which Farrish said he would
donate to.
It was Farrish's idea, Cran-
ston said, that proceeds from
4
ems.

the auction would be
donated to Lucknow Minor

Following would be a din-
ner and speeches.
Cranston said they are
hoping to arrange "signifi-
cant guest speakers" for the
dinner, but would not say
who they had in mind other
than stating they will be
"people from Dave's past."
The whole day, Cranston
said, will be in celebration of
Farrish's accomplishments
and for the town to show its
respect for him having
brought the Cup to
Lucknow.
Over a conference table at
the Lucknow arena Cranston
said, "Home can mean a lot
of different things to a lot of
different players. If you look
up Dave Farrish [online] it
says he's born in Wingham,
Ontario, but that's only
because he was born in the
hospital in Wingham. He's
from Lucknow."

My CancerlQ calculates per-
sonalized risk assessments of
developing melanoma, breast,

tive questionnaires.
Based on the results, My
CancerlQ helps Huron County
residents reduce their risk of
specific cancers by also provid-
ing an action plan with tips
and resources based on their
individual risk factors.
"The My CancerlQ assess-
ments are based on the latest
scientific evidence about can-
cer risk factors," says Angela
Willert, Senior Public Health
Promoter. "The questions
relate to factors or behaviours
that research shows are linked
to the risk of developing a spe-
cific type of cancer."
Launched in 2015 and
updated even further this year,
My CancerlQ helps Ontarians
leam more, and do more, about
their health. Cancer Care
Ontario, in partnership with the
Ministry of Health and Long -

"Preventing cancer starts
with a good understanding of
your cancer risk," says Willert.
"That's what Daffodil Month
