each brought an exchange gift,
a gift for our adopted veteran
at Westminster Hospital and a
gift of clothing and a toy for
the Children's Aid Society of
Goderich,
We are sorry to report that
Comrade Brown is still in hos-
pitaL We will haVe three new
members joining in the new
year. Also, the ladies will be
packing Christmas stockings for
the Legion children's party lat-
er this month.
Comrade Charlotte Wood won
the $16 for perfect attendance
during the year.
The meeting closed with an
exchange of gifts and a pot -luck
supper.

Mrs. Jinn Hyde was hostess at
her home Wednesday evening
for the Christmas meeting of
Hensall Kinettes. A Letter was
read from their adopted girl in
Italy. Discussion centred around
the March of Dimes scheduled
for January 29th. The Kinettes
assisted' Kinsmen with, Senior
Citizens' night held Wednesday
when the Kinsmen chattered a
bus to take the .Senior citizens
on a tour of the area to view
Christmas deGorations. Mrs. Rob-
ert Caldwell won the raffle.
Kippen East WI has complet-
ed a short course on "Baking
with Yeast" in .which thirteen'
ladies participated. Leaders are
Mrs.f John Sinclair and Mrs.
Harry Caldwell.
Mr. David Murray, a patient
at Blue Water RestrHome, near
Zurich, will celebrate his 101st
birthday,- Monday, December
16th.
Mr. Murray made his home
with his,neice Miss Hannah Mur-
ray, RR 1, Hensall before mdv-
ing to Blue Water. He was born
in Hay Township and spent sev-
eral years out west engaged in
farming. He is unmarried.
Donate To London
The annual Christmas party
of Amber Rebekah Lodge, Hen -
sail, was held in the Lodge Hall,
Wednesday evening. A dona-
tion was given to the War Mem-
orial Sick Children's Hospital,
London.
A Christmas program includ-
ed a reading by Mrs. Alex Mc -
Beath; piano selections by Mrs.
Robert Pryde and a sing -song of,
Christmas carols.
Leslie`" Riley, 24, Hensall,
whose left arm was gashed Wed,
nesday morning by a chain saw,
is in satisfactory condition at
Victoria Hospital, London. He
was cutting logs in a bush near
Komoka when the chain saw
kicked, back and severed sever-
al tendons in his arm. He was
driven to the hospital by the
logging contractor Alvin Taylor,
also of Hensall, where he under-
went surgery.

Unit One
The December meeting of
Northside unit one was held at
the home of Mrs. William Camp-
beIl. President, Mrs. Gordan
Papple opened the meeting with
a poem "Go,Ye Unto the Shep-
herds". Miss Fennell read the
minutes and roll call was ans-
wered by 28 members. It was
decided to haVe the January
meeting- the second Tuesday.
Mrs. G Elliott presided for the
devotional part and read a
poem entitled "Christmas' and
the things that matter". Mary
Elliott sang two Christmas
songs and accompanied herself
with the guitar. Mrs. 11. Connell
read the scripture lesson follow-
ed by prayer by. Mrs. C. Wal-
den and the Lord's Prayer in
unison. :
Mrs. G. Elliott read a Christ-
mas story in place of the study
book. Twelve ladies of unit one
gave a Christmas tableau in
candle light. Meeting closest by
all repeating the benediction.
Mrs. McKenzie gave the cour-
tesy remarks.

Unit four UCW, Hensall Un-
ited Church held a Christmas
fellowship meeting Thursday
with thirty-two members and
five guests present. The pro-
gram included quilting, knitting
and visiting with a potluck din-
ner served at noon. Worship ser-
vice was conducted by Mrs. E.
Rowe and Mrs. Leona Parke. A
