In other business members in conjunction with Exeter Auxil- iary will entertain veterans at Westmi'nster Hospital, Novem- ber 15th. A Christmas party for the children of members will be held in December. The ladies will send Christmas boxes to siek and shut-in members, - and will exchange gifts at their Christmas meeting. Hanna, salary, $236.80; bills paid, 2.84; Alan McBurney, Hensall Councillors to Get Expense Money Reeve Minnie Noakes and her four man council in the village of Hensall decided at Monday's' regular meeting to increase the amounts of money they receive for their services. Mrs.. Noakes will receive a yearly increase of $125 • while each councillor 'will get $100 more than they did a year ago. The increase was made in the form of an expense account. The Reeve will new get' a sal- ary of $250 end expense money in the amount" of $125 while council memfbers will get a reg- ular stipend of $200 and ex- pense remuneration in the amount -of $100. The increase in each ,case is Church Groups Northside. Unit Three Unit three of Northside Unit- ed Church met at the home of Mrs. Austin Matheson. It was opened by Abbie Seip with a poem "Autumn". Mrs. Luella Christie conducted business and Mrs. M. Berger and Mrs. A. Bak- er took the second, part of the meeting. Charles Williamson was a guest for the evening and showedslides on his trip to Expo. The group presented Mrs. A. Matheson with a gift prior to her leaving Seaforth. Northside UCW The November meeting of unit one of Northside UCW met at the .home 'of Mrs. C. Britton. Vice-president Mrs. W. Broad - foot opened the meeting with a poem, "Golden Hours" 'and Mrs. • 9'alr'mple read the min- utes and roll call. Mrs. E. Milts read the scri rture and Mrs. Ross Gordon led in. prayer. Mar- ion Scarlett led on a trip to Nor- way with her talk and pictures of last summer. Miss Fennell gave a report of the UCW reg- ional meeting. Mrs. W. Roe read a poem entitled "Slow me down fiend". Mrs. Turnbull gave the courtesy remarks 'and Mrs. W. Broadfoot elosed the meeting with prayer. St. James' CWL The Catholic',Women's Leagu met in the school auditorium when Rev. `Father 11. Larag opened the meeting with the League prayer. Hymn of praise was ung. Mrs. Arthur Dever eaux presided and reports wen read. by the officers. Parish vis itors for November will be Mis A. Downy. and Miss M. Dunn. A letter frim the Sisters o Peru was read by Mrs. A Smale. Mrs. G. Van den Henget gave an interesting report of the CWL Deanery meeting a Goderioh. PIans for bazaar and tea on Nov. 25th were discussed. It was deckled to send dona- tiohs to the Veterans' Christmas fund, Diocesan Reserve f and and to remember the sick and shut -Ins. Citizens met in the Legion .,Hall Wednesday af- ternoon and enjoyed a game of euchre. The prize winners were high, Mrs. Julia Flannigan; lone hands, Mrs. R. Orr; low, Miss Anne McNichol; and lucky cup Mr. 0. Dale. The next meeting will be in the Legion Hall, December 13 in the afternoon.
