Plans Busy Schedule

The Walton Wornenls Insti-
tute met in the Community
Hall. The prograin, was under
the Citizenship and Education
committee, Mrs. Wm. Humph-
ries and Mrs. Ray, Huether.
Current Events were given by
Mrs. Humphries and Mrs. R.
Huether introduced the guest
speaker, Mr. Bert Freeman •of
Teeswater, who showed pict-
ures of Barbados, Jamaica,
Florida and Scotland.
The President, Mrs. Jan Van
Vliet presided for the business.
Minutes, financial report and
the.correspondence were read
by Mrs, Gerald Watson.
•The Fall Rally will be held
October 1 at Credityon. Dele-
gates appointed for this were
Mrs. Wm. Humphries and
Mrs. Jas. Clark.
The resolution concerning
the contamination of soils, air
and water with insecticides
etc. was read. It was reported
that the cost of supporting
a foster child had gone up
from $60 to $84. This is divid-
ed between` five institutes in
the district.
It was decided to send two
ladies to take the course, 'Bak-
ing with Yeast' to Clinton,
October 17 and 18. Mrs. Jas.
Axtnnann to be leader and
other ladies were named . to
Vliet was appointed to go to
be ' contacted: Mrs. 'Jan Van
Vliet was appointed to go to
the Fall Ra117 at Guelph, on
October 25th.
Final plans were discussed
for the Variety Revue to be
held in Walton Community
Hall, October 20 and 21. Mrs.
Van Vliet along with two of
the children i costume are to
appear on Lady's program
on 'CKNX TV.

an Institute pin, -It was decid-
ed that all the past presidents

Library Meeting
The Library Board of Wal-
-ton Public Library including
Ronald Lee, Mrs. Walter Bew-
ley, Harvey McClure and Mrs.
Torrance Dundas, Librarian;
attended a , County Library
Board Meeting m the Clinton
Library Board rooms. Various
matters were discussed and
improvements suggested ,ec in
order that the County system
can work in a manner satis-
factory to the local committees
and the ratepayers of .the
county. °
The Library under the new
system is open to all ratepay-
ers and their families free of
charge.s.Anyone can come in
and browse around, get good
reading material and enjoy
its services.
There will be a book ex
^hange in the library Octob-
er 18 anrL,anyone wishing a
certain book can notify the
Librarian and she will endeav-
our to get it. Library is open
every Tuesday afternoon from
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and evenings
from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

mondville, spent the week end
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Ennis.

was -the lucky winner of a $1,000
draw sponsored by the Knights
of Columbus on Friday evening
in the Coliseum at Stratford.
Rev. J. McIver, SPM, St. Marys,
made the draw. Other winners
were Robert Wall, Stratford,
$100; Dolores Kunder, Strat-
ford, $50.
The event, a district effort
by Seaforth, Stritrord and
Goderich Councils, ,vas largely'
attended with the proceeds go-
ing to the Scarboro Foreign
missions.
