Holds . Centennial Meeting
The United Church Wom-
en held their Centennial Meet-
ing on Tuesday evening. Mrs.
Ross Bpaadfoot and her group
were in charge for the even-
ing. About 160 people were
in attendance, guests were
present from Brucefield, Gos-
hen, Varna and Egmondville.
Along with former guests of
committee comprised of Mrs.
John Anderson, Mrs. Orville
Workman, Mrs. Donald Stuart
and Mrs, Robert. Elgie put
Mach time and effort into the
artistically arranged old tyme
decorating of the coal oil
°lamps with potted mums.
On display were many
pieces of Antique china, glass-
ware, beautiful quilts, and an
old spinning wheel that took
the eyes of many. The old
tyme cotumes of the ladies
were very colorful, also the
girls who "served later were
in pioneer costume. Mrs. Ross
Broadfoot acted as organist
throughout the evening. Mrs.
Elmer Keyes, Exeter, played
the accordion and along with
her sister, Mrs. Fred Parsons
rendered duets. The offering
was taken by Mrs., John An-
derson Mrs. W. - J. F. Bell',.
Mrs. N. Dickert and Mrs. O.
Workman. Miss Debbie An-
derson•gave a very interest,
Mg history of Kippen. Musi-
cal numbers were also enjoy-
ed, by Mrs. George Hess and
Mrs. John McEwen of Hen-
sall. Mrs. Emerson Kyle ask-
ed for a moment of silence in
memery of departed . U.C.W..

Rev. Maines of Londesboro
was guest minister at the Un-
ited Church on Sunday. Rosa-
lind Lillian,. infant daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Elliott
was• baptized and the Sacra
ment of the Lord's Supper
was also observed.
The Varna 4-11 Club "The
Foreign Femmes" met Wed-
nesday evening at the home of
Mrs. Bill Dowson. Discussion
on the Chinese, Japanese and
Indian food customs was led
by Mrs. Alan Hayter.,: Plans
for the Centennial Party Ap-
ril 22 were -completed. Mari-
lyn Keys made Almond cook-
ies and Mrs. Dowson demon-
strated steak and spinach,
Chinese style.
The post poned annual Red
Cross meeting will be held on
Monday, April 24, at 8 p:m.
in the Orange Hall. •

FRANCIS WM. KRAUSKOPF
Frank Krauskopf died Wed
nesdayi,''April 12th, at his home
in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, af-
ter a lingering illness. He was in
his 54th year.
-` Born and educated in Dublin,
he' is the son Of Mrs. Katherine
Krauskopf. and ,the late Louis
Krauskopf of Dublin.
Seven` years --ago, he moved. to
Fort Lauderdale, where he . was'
a salesman fora chain of men's
exclusive clothing stores. •
Requiem Mass was sung ,Fri-
day morning at ,St. Peter's
Church, Fort Lauderdale and
burial took place in Florida.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Helen .O'Hara of Mc-
Killop; his mether, NIrs. Kath-
erine Krauskopf of Dublin; a
sister, Miss Marie Krauskopf' of
Hamilton and.a brother, James
J. Krauskopf of No. 8 Highway,
Dublin.
Both his brother,:and sister at-
tended the funeral:
