Officers for Coming Year
Mrs. John Burchill, president
of the Dublin Women's Insti-
tute waa in charge of the meet-
ing Tuesday evening. Treasur-
er's report . was read by Mrs.
Harold- Pethick, A report was
given of the successful bake
sale.
Mrs. Charles Friend read por-
tions of a letter frorn the Cana-
dian Cancer Society and report-
ed on....the progress of the can-
vass being conducted. Mrs.
Friend added that the project;
"Accent on Accessories," had
been completed by the 4-H
Homemaking Club.
A letter was read from Miss
Irene Collins, home economist,
asking for the Branch's prefer-
ences in the short courses, for-
ums and senior training schools
now in the planning stage, to
be held throughout the province
next year.,
Reports from the standing•
committees were presented.
These were: Agriculture and
Canadian Industries, conveners,
Mrs. James Statton and Mrs.
Reuben Aikens, read by Mrs.
Aikens; Citizenship and Educa-
tion: conveners, Mrs. Jos. Dor-

In her report as curator of
the Tweedsmuir history book,
Mrs. Reuben Aikens said many
pictures of area farm buildings
have been added to the book.
It is hoped anyone who has old
pictures and would like them
to become part of this perman-
ent record will contact Mrs.
Aikens.
Mrs. Reuben Aikens took the
chair for the election of of-
ficers, with Mrs. Harold Pethick
as recording secretary. The slate
of officers, prepared by • the
.nominating committee, Mrs.
John Nagle and Mrs. Joseph
Dorsey, was accepted. Officers
for 1966-67 are: Past president,

The neW officers,were install-
ed by Mrs. R. Aikens. Mrs. John

The May meeting is to be
held at the the home of Mrs. J.
Dorsey, assisted by Mrs. J. Bur-
chill. Plans were made to -at-
tend the annual meeting of
South Huron Women's Insti-
tute, May 24, in the Presbyter-
ian Church at Avonton.
Mrs. Harold Pethick read an
article from the Consumers' Re-
port about different types of
stoves.
The meeting was adjourned
by Mrs. Charles Friend. Luneh
was served by the_ committee, in
charge: Mrs. Wilfred Annis and
Mrs. Herbert Britton.
Mr. and Mrs. Fergus Horan
were in Georgetown with Mr.
and Mrs. Patrick Woods. They
also attended the graduation
dance at the, Teachers' College
in Toronto•, Mrs. Woods being
one of the graduates.
Mr. and Mrs, Mike Maloney,
Stratford, visited Mr. and Mrs.
Wilfred Maloney.
Miss Joanne Stapleton, Notre
Dame College, Waterloo, was
with Mr. and Mrs. ' i+ ergus Stap-
leton. ••
Mrs. Patrick Benn, Toronto,
and •Mrs. John Cleary, Weston,
visited Mrs. Frank Evans.
Miss Karen • Dill, London,
spent a time with Mrs. Joseph
Dill.
Mrs.. Loretta Schmidt has re-
turned home from Stratford
Hospital.

the summer vacation at- his

Annual
Plans for the annual dinner
meeting of the Huron County
TB Association in Blyth May
30th, highlighted the regular
meeting of the association held
Monday evening in Seaforth. E.
J. O'Brien, executive director of
the Ontario TB Association, will
be speaking on the problem of
TB in the emerging countries
from a Canadian viewpoint.
Plans also were made to car-
ry out a nursing home survey
in the area in the near future.
The meeting was in charge of
president George A. Watt, of
Blyth.
4-H Clubs
Receive
Awards
The 4-H Homemaking Club of
Brodhagen attended Achieve-
ment Day at Mitchell and Dis-
trict High School. The follow-
ing received certificates for
having completed two projects:
Diane Brown, Linda Miller, Don-
nie Leonhardt, Donna Pushel-
berg, Wendy Trutter, Sharon,
Sheila and Janice Dietz, Joanne
and Margaret ' Elligsen and
Mary Beuerman.
All the club members were
presented 'with sterling silver
five o'clock teaspoons. Joanne
Elligsen was commentator on
an exhibit of accessories for a
basic costume.
All members modelled their
hats, purses -and tie-dyed scarfs
in a fashion parade, with Mary
Beuerman the commentator. The
fall project will be "The Club
Girl Entertains."

ing Club held a banquet at the
Community Hall. Regular danc-

bows for headpieces.
Brother of the groom, Wil-
liam Lansbergen, of Guelph, was
best man, and the ushers were
Eldon Mitchell, of Seaforth, and
Nick Lansbergen, of Zurich, bro-
ther of the groom.
For the wedding trip the bride
wore a royal blue suit of dou-
ble knit with white accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. Lansbergen will
live in Stratford.
Bernadette Marie Aubin, of
Seaforth, and Adrien John Lans-
bergen, Stratford, exchanged
wedding vows in St, James'
Roman Catholic Church, Sea=
forth, on Saturday, April 16, at
11 a.m. The ceremony was per-
formed by Rev. Father Laragh.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. John Aubin, Seaforth, and
the late Mrs. Aubin, and the
groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. William Lansbergen, of
Zurich.
Mr. Aubin gave his daughter
in marriage. She wore a floor -
length gown of nylon •over net,
featuring a.long train. The dress
had lily -pointed sleeves and a
scoop neckline. Her shoulder -
length veil of white 'net was.
held by white petals. The bride
carried yellow roses.
Mrs. Eldon Mitchell, sister of
the bride, was the maid of hon-
or. Miss Christina Lansbergen
also , attended the bride as
of the LCW of St. Peter's Luth-
eran Church attended a con-
vention in Chesley.
