• At the Hensell council meet-
ing on Monday night, Paul Neil,
representing the recreation com-
mittee, asked council to consider
paying- a grant towards the hir-
ing of a full-time recreation di-
rector. Council, with one mem-
ber absent, said they would con-
sider the request.
The building' inspector was
present at the meeting. He dis-
cussed the matter of building

ratepayer who intends to build
or renovate 'at a cost of over
$100 must procure a permit
from the inspector before begin-
ning any work.
David Sangster, fire chief,
said he attended the meeting
of the district firemen when the
forming of a mutual aid associa-
tion had been discussed. He said
council would have to pass a by-
law for it to be in effect.
The chairman of the Centen-
nial Committee said he did not
have enough members. He said
anyone interested in working
on the committee should con-
tact Harold Knight.
Other business at the meeting
included the issuing of permits
to Gerald Flynn to do renova-
tion, and to Cook Bros. Milling
Co. to build a dust bin.
Charles Hay asked council to
build a sidewalk on his street.
Council decided to investigate.
Don Travers asked council if
he could move or erect a sec-
ond house on his lot. He was
told se see the building inspec-
tor and the Health Unit.
At Square Dance School
About 200 boys and girls,
aged eight to 16, participated in
the junior Southwestern Ontario
square dance jamboree here Fri-
day evening. The square danc-
ers came from London, Byron,
St.- Thomas, Tillsonburg, Cen-
tralia, Exeter, Clinton and Hen-
sall.
This was the first of two
square dance jamborees held
annually by the junior ' South-
western Ontario Square Dance
Association, which supplies the
teachers and the callers. More
than 150 .adults crowded the
Hensall arena to watch the
dancing.

Mass was celebrated Tuesday
at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic
Church; Kingsbridge, for David
M. O'Neil, 22, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Jim O'Neil, of Kintail. For -

Surviving are his wife, the
former Sharon Clark; a daugh-
ter„ Theresa; his parents, five
brothers and four sisters. Burial
was in St. Joseph's parish ceme-

Projects
The Huron County 4-H Home-
making Club girls will hold four
Achievement Days during May
and June,in the county to model
clothing accessories which they
made.
The three 4-11 Clubs in Sea -
forth will send girls to the
Achievement Day to be held in
Auburn at the Community Hall,
on Saturday, June 25th.
The girls have made original
hats, tie-dyed scarves and
matching purses as part of their
project, "Accent on Accessor-
ies". The elements of style,'
color co-ordination and the pro-
per care of accessories was stu-
died and each girl is preparing
how to demonstrate her knowl-
edge as well as model her ac-
cessories.
' The club has extended an in-
vitation to all mothers, Women's
Institute members and friends
who are interested in 4-H Home-
making Club work. The after-
noon program will feature skits,
exhibits and demonstrations.
The other three Achievement
Days to be held in the county
are: Exeter, at the South Hur-
on District High School on Sat-
urday, May 14th; Wingham, at
the' Windham. District High
School on Saturday, May 28th;
and Howick, at the Howick Cen-
tral School on Thursday, June
