Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle at - 'tended the Past Masters' ban- quet and Ladies' Night Wednes- day evening of last week in Exe- ter. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Haslip and family, of Burlington, were weekend guests with Mrs. Eric Kennedy and Mr. Ira Geiger. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Snell and Mr, David Beaver, Exeter, spent a few days at the end of the week with Mr. and Mrs. Don Rigby in Blenheim. Mr. and Mrs. Snell attended the funeral on Friday of the late Claire Rigby, of Hamilton, brother of Mr, Don Rigby. Mrs. John Henderson return- ed home Saturday from South Huron Hospital, where she has been a patient for eight weeks. Hensall firemen were called Saturday afternoon to extin- guish a fire in the undergrowth of a bush owned by Jim Mc- Ewen, behind the dam, lot 10, con. 1, in Hay Township. It took the firemen an hour to put the are out, with water pumped from the creek. The bush covers'10 acres, with half the undergrowth burned. The Hot Turkey and Ham Smorgasbord held at St. Paul's Auglican Church, Sat- urday afternoon was success- ful, when oyer $20,0.00 were the door receipts. Mrs. C. L. Jinks spent the Mrs. with Mr. and Ross Jinks and family in London. Guests were pre- sent from Kippen, Bruce - field, Goshen, Turner's, The meeting was opened with an Easter poem, "The oldest Easter Message",' by Mrs. H. Wilson and prayer by Mrs. L. Strong. Scripture lesson was given by Mrs, Alan Scott. "Meditation On Easter" by Mrs. J. Rose. The offering was received by Mrs. K. Moore, Mrs. J. Patrick, Mrs. B. Coleman, Mrs. R. 1VicGon- igle. A duet was given by Mrs, S. Jackson and Mrs. E. Durst. Mrs. Ed. Boyes intro- duced the guest speaker, Mrs. G. Beecroft, of Belgrave, who smoke on Wider Horizons. Horizons can be broadened by taking part in social act' ivities, by literature reading and of being followers of the one who gave his life for us.
