Ladies' Aid of First Church
met in the church hall Tuesday
afternoon. Mrs. Frank . Kling
was in the chair for the busi-
ness period and welcomed guests
and friends. A poem by Mrs.
Ed Andrews, "Spring, '.Easter
and the World's Easter Bon-
net," was followed by a hymn
chosen by Mrs. John Cummings.
The scripture lesson was read
by Mrs. Wallace Ross and prayer
by Mrs. William Drover. Mrs.. R.
Kerslake read minutes and Miss
Jean Scott, a prayer.
There were 37 Falls made to
patients in the hospital and
shut-ins. It was decided to en-
tertain the shut-ins at the May
meeting and •to have them in-
spect the new rooms at the
church. Mrs. R. S. Habkirk re-
ported on the placing of a chan-
delier in the manse.
A discussion on the Plowing
Match followed, when Mrs.
Kling outlined plans. The ladies
of the church will all be im-
plicated in the project, and pro=
ceeds will be used for redecor-
ating the church. A trio of girls,
Sharon Strong, Elizabeth Smale,
and Joan Sinclair, sang two
numbers, "Alone" and "April
Showers," accompanied by Jo-
anne Elligsen.
Mrs. Kling introduced Mrs. R.
J. Doig, a former resident of
McKillop, Who gave an inter-
esting account of the early set-
tlers in that township. Miss Jean
Scott thanked those taking part.
The next meeting will be in
charge of , the Agar -Coleman
group.

the church auditorium Tuesday
evening. In the absence of Mrs.
Taylor, Mrs. Jack -Henderson,
first vice-president, had charge
of the meeting; gave the Call
to Worship and led in opening
prayer.
Mrs. Stuart read the Easter
message and led in prayem'Mrs:
Fred McGregor sang a solo and
the offering was- -received by
Mrs. Berry and Mrs. Lorne Wil-
son. -
Mrs. Robert Allan, Jr., intro-
duced the speaker, Mrs- Mills,
of Clinton, who gave an inspir-
ing talk on Easter and the
Resurrection. She was thanked
and presented with .a gift by
Mrs. W. Scott. Rev. Mr. Stuart
pronounced the benediction.
