Holds' First Meeting
The regular meeting of the
UCW of Cavan Church, Win-
throp, was held Wednesday,
Jan. 5, with Airs. George Case
presiding. The meeting ,Upend
with a meditation and singing
Hymn 571, "Standing ,At the
Portal," and Mrs. Case offered
prayer.
Mr....Britton the took charge
and installed the officers for
1966. The meeting was' then
turned over to the new presi-
dent, Mrs. William Little. who
opened the meeting with a
poem with thoughts for the
New Year, and prayer. The
minutes of the December meet-
ing were read' and adopted.
The roll 'call was the payment
of fees. 'Twenty members were
present. Several letters of cor-

Little closed -the meeting with
prayer. The session met with
the ladies for luneh and a so-
cial half-hour.

hospital work, and how the
auxiliary and the board when..
working -together can, give bet-
ter service to the community.
He suggested areas in which
the auxiliary can help the hos-
pital, and indicated facts. con-
cerning operating costs. -
Mitis Alice Reid ,thanked Mr.
McLean. The meeting was -ad-
journed and' lunch was served.

MRS., MARY SINCLAIR
Miss Mary Margaret Sinclair,
63, Seaforth, died Monday in
Seaforth Contmunity' ' Hospital
following a two-week illness.
Born in . Tuckersmith Town=
ship, she was educated at SS 2.
A. daughter of the late William
Sinclair and Agnes Bell, for the
past 10 years she ' had" lived in
Seaforth.
Surviving is one brother,
John, RR 3, Kippen.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the
G. A. Whitney funeral home
here. Rev, J. C. Britton, of
Northside United Church, ofci.

Librarian Resigns
Mrs. Robert Cameron, who
has been an efficient and popu-
lar librarian for the past 35-
,years,
5,years, has tendered" her resig-
nation. In 194$:: Mrs, - Cameron
attended a short course for
librarians and having passed
her., examinations she received
her 'E' Certificate for Librar-
ians, and when the board
•cepted her resignation. in No-
vember ,they asked her if she
would continue in 'a supervis-
ory..• capacity, and she agreed to
that. Mrs. Hilliard Lawrence,
of Hensall, has been appointed
librarian to replace Mrs. Cam-
eron.
