'lTrl. weer At
Both students and teachers
are enjoying a well-earned
Christmas rest 'after somehow
completing the first term of the
school year. Mr. Manbert, boys'
P.E., finished hi' particularly=
good style as he won a draw
for $25.00, • I think it was at..
the dance in the Legion len the
evening school was let out.
Since he wasn.'t around to col-
lect it, it will probably be wait-
ing for him when he comes
back from his vacation.—
*
On the last day of school the
Students' Council entertained
the students, starting with four
for five films in the morning on
a variety of subjects, ranging
from skiing to taking a trip to
Europe,n the afternoon we
had a smmll concert with some
of the classes putting on a few
skits and the Glee Club sing-
ing a few hymns and carols.
After ,. this, free Cokes were
passed around, the chairs clean
ed away, and a dance to rec-
ords was held until the' buses
left:
Instead or buying gifts for
home -room teachers ',this year,
the classes pooled.th'eir resourc-
es and donated the money to a
worthwhile charity: Somebody
said we had over $80, but I
tYe Batorth District High &howl
don't know . how accurate this
is.
During the past week of
school we have had Mrs. Rob-
inson, who used to teach Eng-
lish here three years ago, 'fill-
ing in, for 'Mrs. Hansen. We
will prob'nbly see Mrs. Hansen
back, first thing in the New
Year.
Report eards were handed out
last week so that some students
might havejsomething to think
about over the holidays. So
many students will- start the
NeW Year with a resolution'to
improve these - marks, along
with a promise to Mrs. Alex-
ander to "get eight hours' sleep
the night before you come back
so you don't fall asleep in 'my
math class."
