The Tuckersmith UCW unit
meeting was held at the home
of • Mrs. Ross Scott, with • 15
members present:.
The roll call -was "Remem-
brance". Mrs, Norris Sillery
was in charge, adsisted by Mrs.
J.. ,McEwen. taking the devo-
tions. Mrs. *Ewen gave an in-
teresting talk on Remembrance
Day fifty years ago.
.Miss Emma McDonald, guest
speaker, told how the day was
celebrated In Brucefield, and
also brought home many sad
memories as well.
Mrs. Sillery had, charge of
the study book,on Japan..
Mrs. John Broadfoot invited
the unit to her home for the •
clesing meeting of 1968 and
Christmas party Dec. 10.
The hostess, Mrs. B. Scott

the changed reporting of inter-
est and dividends announced in
the budget speech° October 22.
, These slips will be required
for reporting interest and divi-
dends paid in the 1,966 calendar
Year.
,Previously, T4 slips- were only
required to be completed when
the amount of interest or divi-
dends exceeded $100.This limit
has now been redqqqd to $10.
The forms will be avai/able for
distribution to reporting agents
,in December. •
The T5 slips are similar to
the T4 slips issued to employees
each year for filing ineogie fax
returns. The T5's,gre completed
by all persons who paid, _credit-
ed or distributed interest, divi-
dends, patronage payments, or
royalties to residents of Canada,
during the calendar year. NOM-
inees and other persons receiv-
ing such income on. behalf of
a third person resident In Can- ,•
ada must also complete this
form. The reduced limit will
not apply to patronage payments
or royalties.
There are 14.5 million sav-
ings accounts in Canada, but
more than 11 million are believ-
ed to contain balances of less
than $1,000. There are no fig-
ures available to indicate how
much extra revenue will be pro-
duced by the lowering of the
repotting limit.
