• Trumpet Band
The band has already made
its debut for the new school
year. Under the direction of
' George Hildebrand, the girls at-
tended the Blyth Fair on Wed-
nesday, Sept. 18, and they led
the parade in Seaforth oii Fri-
day, Sept. 20, for their home-
town fall fair. This Friday, they
will play at Brussels Fair and
are loeldng forward to the
Plowing Match in Guelph next
month. New uniforms were
purchased last year and the
colour,party completed the new
look by making velveteen out-
fits in green for the majorettes
and red for the flag bearers.
The blank spaces in the ranks
have been filled by new mem-
bers•and the -band now has four
glockenspiel,' two cymbals and
two bass drums.
Football .
The football team, coached by
Mr. Reidy, has been practising
ever since the first week of
school. Roger- • Bennewies is
team manager and the coach
chose Bill Carnochan and Gary
Nicholson as captains. Coach
Reidy seems to be making pro-
gress with "the Golden Bears"
because they have already won
an exhibition game with ,Clin-
ton by a score of 26-0. Judging
by their first game, the students
have high hopes for the Bears
in this season. Cmon team!
Soccer -
Mr. PelsS has formed a jun-
ior soccer team but as yet they
have not played any games.
These 'boys have also been
practising. and we eagerly
