HAWKS 5 STARS 4 The hawks jumped into a 5-2 lead then held on dearly, for an exciting 5-4 win over the Stars during last Sunday early match, The Stars roared,, buzzed and, generally harrassed the black shirts for most of the final frame but superb goal- tending front Charlie Smith and erratic shooting by the green team allowed the Hawks to escape, withthe slim, victory. He now has 105 during his stay in the I.H.L. and currently ranks 3rd behind Dale Kennedy, (148) and, Dave Broome (13.7). Steve Southgate has a career total; of 95 and he should become' the 4th skater, to hit the magic 100 before this season ends. Price is also closing in ops 100 assists. He needs 10' more and that would make him 3rd ip that catagory also. Dale Kennedy has 298 career points, He will become the first plaYer in league history to, score 300, Quite a feat! 'His closest rival is. Dave Broome with 276 points. 1 hesitate to ,make a prediction 077 this season. The,Flyers are very strong but :the Wings downed, them 5.3: a couple of weeks back. Most observer* feel any club can win it ;alt The Hawks have scored; the most goals so for this year (53). The Wings have netted the fewest at 32 goals.
