reeve."
Mr Sharen Sharen said he had
fought tooth and nail to get
' positive things for the village
And added, it's just too
frustratine!
In an interview following
the meeting, the reeve said it
waste t just the parking
controversy that sparked his
resignation. He said people,
came to his home with
complaints late at night and
his wife received angry
phone calls.
• The reeve said the public
forgets that there are five
people on council making the
decisions and that he gets
most of the criticism. He said
he was paid 51800 a year by
the village and received
about another 51500 from the
county and spent about 20
hours a week on; council
business. •
Main Street businessmen
- Were at the meeting to
complain about paying for
the costs of the new parking
lot. The businessmen re-
ceiveda letter earlier saying
they would be responsible for
the costs.-
, The businessmen claimed_
it wasn't clear in the letter.
that the parking lot should
pay for itself in parking fees'
and that profits from the
beach parking lot would go
towards the new lot.
• Council members said they
asked businessmen to , piek
up any deficitt that might
• occur.
