It was a grand, weeken4 for
golfing, aPd iln with our
many rep lar golfers, we had

others were past members
spending the weekend in

include some information
here regarding golfing
etiquette on as most people
• would say "Courtesy on the
Course" A film of this title is
available from the golf
, association and we hope to
include this on our family
•film night.
Courtesy on the course is
fmajor concern, to us both
as participating golfers and
vittt club managers. It is
important that all golfers
have, an enjoyable time on,
the course and no ill feelings
are caused through neglect
or bad manners & On a small,
• course like ours, a busy day
often results in a build up of
players on the tees and a
certain amount of waiting
• results, .
Golfers must remember
• that many people 0are
unaware of some ofthe
manners" in ' 'golf, not
intentionally, but because for
many it is:a new sport and
they don't realize that they
may be c:oing the wrong
thing.
For many the word
foursome is not a household
word. Therefore the new
golfers do not understnad the

Action in the Men's.
Recreational league was hot
O and heavy in last; week's
games as the league again
shows just haw balanced the
• teams are this season. The
opening game saw Chuck
Robbins throw a two hitter at
Mainstreet as the Firemen
poster' a 2-0 win.
The firemen struck for ctix
hits with Gary [flack's donee
O the only extra base hit. Th• e
Smokea ters 2 runs were
obtained in the fifth inning as
an error and a walk along
with two singles by Dave
• Longstaff and Chuck
Robbins.
The winning eitebec had
plenty of Control as he struck
out sixteen. Bob
Beuttenmiller went the
distance for the
Mainstreetem striking out
eight and allowing' only six
hits.
• The second game went to
the Teachers by a 7-0 score
as the Travellers had to forlei
• the game due to lad of
players.
Moriday's games saw the
BP Bears with their new
uniforms come out swinging
as they whipped the Queen's
by a convincing 14.5 score.
The Bears reached Brian
Dale and Jack Price for
seventeen hits as they had
little probleel at the plate.
The Queens were limited to
six hi ts by Ron Beuerman as
they couldn't mount any
serious scoring threat. •
The late game was another
cliff hanger as the Turf Club
rallied in the bottom of the
seventh to push across the
winning run and score a 2-1
• win over a determined
Villagers squad. Rick Woods
and. Alex Delvecio were
• locked in a oitcher's duel and
• only a last ditch effort by the
Turf provided the difference.
This week's action saw
• Sunday's games postponed
due to a wet field. but
Monday's encounters were
• able to be played as the
Firemen again taking
advantage of strong
pitching ; whipped the
Villagers by an 8-1 score.
The Villagers couldn't get
untracked as the- Smokeners
picked away and, built up a
strong lead to score an easy
win.
The late game saw the
O Mainstreet tally to post a
narrow 3-2 victory over the
fa ltering Queens. The game
was in doubt all the way
through as beth teams
