Isabel Hardy of Seaforth on
July 4, 1977.

circus will visit 130 towns
and cities across . Canada
from early May to mid-Sept-
ember when the season
ends.
The 90 minute perfor-
mances under the big top
feature all . the acts we
associate withh circus a tc
from trained animal acts to.
clowns, trapeze artists, flame
swallowers and other variety
acts.
In addition to the main
performance under the big
top, the circus also operates
an animal and childre 's
petting ettin : zoo,: an exhibit fea-
turing giant python snakes
and pony rides for the
children. Oh, and what circus
would becomplete without
lots of popcorn?
' The Martin and Downs
circus is expected to arrive in
Seaforth early Tuesday morn-
ing and local students will be
recruited lo. help set up the
frig top which includes 9,000
feet of heavy duct canvas and
aver two ,irides of rope. It
takes; approxtntately four
hours and lots of manpower
to raise the, big tent which.
seats 1,000 spectators.
The daily operating costs.
