Soccer. For the last several yegt{s. it has
been a summer substitute for minor,hockey
in 'Seaforth. Every spring, teams were
formed which would play against other
teams 'frent ail 'over the ;province, and if
good enough. even against a few American
ones too. .
When the Toronto'Bliz:zard soccer team
joined the North'Anterican Soccer League
this year. it brought, a lotof attention to the
Sport. Unfortunately, as seems tobe the
fate of all professional sports teams from
Toronto, the Blizzard seems to be more like
a mild snow storm. Nonetheless, ,N.A.S,L,;
games are ;be,ing broadcast on Canadian
tcle>ieision. and this helps. promote' Soccer
as a whole, •
Soccer, .or football as the British prefer
to call it, is: one, sport: in which . Seaforth
area teams seem to excell. , ysualtrv. Last
summer. when Seaforth and, her sister city.
West Branch, Michigan, h;elld •' the
international• Olympics between the two.
